You're almost lucky : here in Europe, it's the same price... for 1 liter, and 1 Gallon = 3,75 Gallons !!!! Gasoil is a little bit cheaper : US$0,85/liter !
So let me cry

Here in the UK petrol is about 71.9 pence per litre, or about £3.26 per imperial gallon. Convert that into US gallons and dollars and it's about 5.13 USD per US gallon. Just count yourself lucky you don't have to pay that much!

Annoying thing is that it's about 80% tax, but according to British governments car use is too high. It's no longer politically correct to own a car So they try to persuade us to use public transport by pricing us out of our cars, even though the trains and buses are hopelessly inadequate

Sorry, rant over.

You're right Focus2000, in the whole Europe gas is very expensive, I think that in the United Kingdom it's the more expensive, but in France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, etc. it's very expensive too.

Here in Georgia, gas prices are going for about $1.25 to $1.30 per gallon of regular unleaded.

BTW...not all Americans take cheap gas for granted. I feel very fortunate to have it.
