A small update, no pics on the progress but some ideas i would like to share:

The hood;
i'm thinking of making this with a carbon fibre look. But as i have seen in another thread i will need an airbrush of some sort to pull this off, as i dont own one i will need to buy it or borrow it *i'm pondering on this one :P*

The rims;

I would like to have rims that are almost the same as the one rieger tuning uses

but as i have not seen one's similar to those my insterests also go out to these

thats it so far for my small update. I'm going to sleep now

It may look like that one but as this project is only inspired by the Rieger bodykit, it can have many similarity's with other bodykits. It will not be a complete look-a-like This way my creativity is stimulated and it will be my own bodykit [EDIT] or did you mean the pic of the actual rieger tuned one? [EDIT]

joeclaw; thanx for showing me these rims
They indeed look a lot like the one rieger uses especially the bbs rs II, if i paint the inner part black it is a perfect copy.
I only hope these will be available in The Netherlands cause i love those rims :

1: Welcome to AF

2: Good job so far on your project. I like all kind of VWs (who had guessed ) and I'll be following it.
I wish you good luck for the sanding. Seems that you'll have a lot to do.

Groeten van Belgïe.

As i had a lot of things to do the last 2 days i did not have time to continue modeling and i am away for the next weekend.
But i have bought some new stuff for my project and the pictures will be up tommorow .
One of the things i have bought is a tamiya BMW 320i GR5 Racing "Jagermeister" kit

which have the perfect rims for the Golf and i am thinking of also using the engine of this kit, more details on this will be posted soon.
And VWman; i will be making these sideintakes (with a little personal twist to them) along with some other creative intakes and thingies .

Nice, I had plans to do something similar with a Revell kit. Good work and keep it up.

Theres more than one way to build a widebody. He chose the putty method. I personally have never seen the method you posted before.

If he wants to do it the putty way, then let him. Its his model, not yours.

I do agree, He has done a very nice putty job on this one. Much better than i could have out of that blob of putty.

But, that is a very nice tutorial for making a widebody, Never seen it either. Thanks for the link bill, nice to see you good for something else than being critical! J/k

I bought this kit at Techno Hobby De Wit in Zwolle, bought it in a sale for 8 euro but it is also available at toms i think.

bill_kustomz; As i am new to moddeling, the putty was my way of doing a widebody. I started this model before i noticed AF, so i had no one to give me tips on how to do a widebody. And luckely this way turned out great for me

The update:

As you can see, The rough edges of the fenders have been sanded away. The only thing it lacks are the side-intakes.

The wheels on the car are the ones from the bmw 320i model, and the inside of the rims will be painted black.

Getting the shape symetrical was a difficult task, but as you can see it worked out well

The front bumper is almost finished now, the air intakes are done and it only needs some further sanding to finish this part.

The support for the front bumper is a piece of the rear wing, but as my camera failed to work after making these pictures i could not make some nice shots of this part. But it will be similar as the one rieger uses.

Thats it for this update.
