the new civic LX's are pretty good, man. Acceleration is sh*t, but the steering is solid, and handles real well for the frame. Only thing I don't like is the mad road noise.

btw maybe im dumb, but why wouldnt you take the car with the DOHC and the higher hp (corolla) over the SOHC and LOWER hp? should be clearcut imho

hmm, i think i made this comparo on car comparisons, but mine was who would win, oh well, i would go with a USED corolla (03') model because they are alot cheaper and then with the extra cash get a trd supercharger, its what my mom has and it kicks ass, the interior is great, and lots of power, also in my opinion looks way better, but i think the new civics look cheap,so my for in this is for a trd supercharged corolla, also another great thing is, if its a trd supercharger its still covered under warentte if the dealer instals it, great buy.

If your Corolla's are anything like the sluggish, cheap, stodgy and pig-ugly things we get....Then get the Civic. However if Toyota are giving you Yanks a better Corolla....

Corollas are the most ordinary cars on the planet. They do the job and thats it. Not that Civics are the ultimate driving machines, but id definitely pick one over a corolla.

I personally think the corolla (especially the S) looks so cheap and tacky... the civic is looks a little bit better...BUT the new corolla XRS has 170hp which handily beats the civic (I don't consider the SIR a civic because it is similar only in name) and really makes me like the corolla

My mom just bought an 03 corolla le and my bro just bought a 04 civc lx for his first family car. I like the corolla alot more. Its more powerful and looks nicer(interior and ex) They both have probibly the best retail sale of thier class.

By the way Mustangs have one of the worst resale value of any car. Probibly because anyone who buys them realizes how bad they are and turns around and sells them.

well between the corolla and civic.. the only reason that the civic is more popular is because people just tend to mod mroe civics then corollas.. they are both made for the same reason.. but in terms of overall workmanship/reliability i would need to say the corolla will win.. i have lots of friends that has 02/03 corollas its so dam roomy.. it hasmuch more low end torque and 1st gear (even in auto) always gets you to 40mph the engine is quiet at low rpms.. but unlike honda.. the toyota gives a kinda mechanical sound.. the honda has a louder engine, but its really up to you.. i would rather buy a LE, which is lexury edition (or so it says) than a civic LX.. imo only the civic EX is worth buying.. but then it cost almost $18k.. if i were to pay so much then get the corolla XRS, better yet the matrix XRS that is already out.. same sh*t as the corolla.. but more roomy.. for practical use.. and it has 6 speeds.. i think... not sure

wow.. supercharging a 1.8 liter engine.. your going to get what.. like 25hp out of that? why not turbocharge.. when u supercharge you need bigger displacment.. supercharging an 03 I4 camry only gives it 40hp.. and thats a 2.4 liter already.. you will not get much out of the $3000 u pay for a supercharger for such a small engine.. buy a light turbo kit.. for liek $3k and get around 40-60hp with it

I test-drove both when I was shopping for a new economy car, and the Civic is far, far superior. It feels faster, the transmission is 100x better than the Corolla's, and the cockpit is more comfortable.

You get alot more than 25 hp when you supercharge a corolla. When I went with my mom to look at the Toyota dealership they guy said if we got the supercharger it would add around 70 hp. Thats around 50% increase. Seems like thats about the same as a turbo, but its under warrenty and is less likely to have something go wrong.
