Re: '69 Monte Carlo R8 GORDINI progress

Cool build happening here. I don't think I've ever seen one in my life. Great paint job and I'm feeling those stripes.

The idea of a roll bar in this car cracks me up. It looks like it couldn't go over 40. It's a real sleeper I'm sure. If I owned a real one, I would have it painted flat black

Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more progress on this cool build.

J. Barry

Re: '69 Monte Carlo R8 GORDINI progress

Thank to everyone for the kind comments.
To answer the questions, i ordered the kit from a french company (don't remember the name, it was 3 years ago), the minilite wheels are from a mini cooper, and even if the car "looks like it couldn't go over 40", it's a triple-winner of the monte carlo rally (64,65,66). engine is a 1300cc atmo.
Well, back to the model: i'm not very proud of it, i messed the clearcoat. I also made a mistake while placing the trunk hinges, so i had to remove the airbox (i'll make some different air filters to fit under the trunk.
anyway, here are the pics:

beautiful Gorde!

dunno but the pics show this great shine on it, can t really see what is wrong with it...

engine looks decent too, and with the well done sides , is it BMF or just glue on chrome stuffies?

Keep it up

Olivier

update:

Decals are wrong (fender sponsors ) and very thick, unsensible to micro sol. Next step is the interior, and then a good weathering to hide the messed (again) panel lines.
