Brakes are done except for the CF

After I apply the CF I will touch them up for any mistakes and apply a dull coat over them... until then they will rest...

Right now I am test fitting the body to see where to apply cf and paint x-18

Re: BMW-Williams FW-24 Project...

WOW! OMG! So cool! I love these F1 cars! And then you even got the BMW real car paint! This will be the most awesome F1 I've seen. Best of luck to you, Toughbeard. BTW, what scale is this?

Bup, He is right you know You can reach me via e-mail or toughbeard.com forum. Same nick same mail..

RallyRaider, I am amazed that someone recognized the language, unless of course you know how to speak.
"McLaren Masochist"... I love it... I wish the team would not let their fans down just as BMW is doing at the moment..

cheers

Re: BMW-Williams FW-24 Project...

It was just a guess the post was in Turkish Toughbeard. Unfortunately I don't know how to speak it. No need to be sorry bup (you can be forgiven many sins since you must be a WRC fan!).

Yeah it is a bad time to be a McLaren fan. I don't feel let down by the team, they'll come good. Just the people running (into the ground) the once great sport of F1.

Excellent detail!
I'm looking forward to your CF work (better you than me.lol).
While I like the red cars, I would like to see some better racing action.

Yes the reds just fly away lets hope there will be more action..

Here is a pic of what I am doing at the moment.

I didnt like the detail level of the shocks and I always hate the way the molded shocks look. So I decided to build the shocks

I know studio27 makes a shock set but instead of buying those I bought other cool stuff form SMS...

I cut the center part where the spring is molded, after measuring the body of the shock, I used a 2mm styrene pipe to make the body. I drilled the top and bottom of the shock mounts with 1 mm drill so the shaft can be glued. I placed a 1 mm styrene rod throught the new shock body and glued everything to the end. I cut the 1 mm rod to the right length.

The spring was made with solder...

Now I am going to make the other side as well and start painting these babies...

Re: BMW-Williams FW-24 Project...

Nice job with thte shock and springs. The shock looks like it could be an expensive turned aluminium aftermarket part in the pic!
