Skylines???

I respect the car, I'm into AWD high horsepowers cars, If I see one pull of next to me at a light I not gonna even try to keep up with it. becouse there's no way in Hell I can. but I just don't know what I don't like about the car, but I am a big Nissan fan. expecially 180-240 SX's

Well, the large thrust of interest and models here are Japanese tuners. And of those cars, one stands above the rest and that's the Skyline. Tuning is pretty unique in that it has a single car that stands for the entire movement; the performance tuners all the way to the show tuners all respect and love the car. I can't think of any other segment of automotive enthusiasm that has a single car that everyone agrees upon as being such a paragon (Well, classic lovers have the E-type...).

And personally, as powerful as the Skyline is, the NSX is hands down better. Anyone can make power, it takes something more to make it handle. Perfect 50/50 wieght distribution, perfectly balanced handling and power transfer, from a car without the fancy electronicly controlled AWD... Now that's man and machine together on the road.

Depends on who you ask, so yeah.... But despite AWD, the NSX is definately a better handling car, that's a fact. The opinion comes in when you have to decide which you think makes a car better, handling or power. For me, well, go figure.

I finally crawled out from under a rock a couple of weeks ago. I am a muscle car guy and I don't know much about Nissan cars but after I saw pics of one and doing reading on them I like them very much. I can't wait to get my hands on one to build.

Stange only a few hours ago I was out getting my tea (KFC) and a white R32 with a GT wing and R34 wheels in gold, Mines declas on the doors and a huge exhuast pulled along a side. AWESOME car, shame I was in the FTO not the 350Z, but nearer the less we have a quick chat at the lights, then off we vanished.........I NEED a R32, time to sell the FTO and get a old R32. GTR...The Japanese Supercar.

On a tight course the NSX will win. A full track with striaght and turns the Skyline will edge out the NSX and also the number of consistent laps. The comparison is stock (NSX) for US Stock (Skyline) per Rhys Millen's foot. Not bad when you consider the NSX is all aluminum and better balanced. But like you said the Skyline has a killer AWD system. Even when tuning for power the Skyline isn't going to be a slope or it wouldn't be such a dominate force.

I love the NSX myself. Having driven 2 thus far in my life. Awesome cars! The only thing that turns me off is that the NSX can't be tuned like a beast like the Skyline.

Don't mind 'em but this forum has just about every possible variation covered. Only type's I'd be interested in building are the JGTC cars and Bathurst winner. All been done to exceedignly high standrds on this very forum, so I see no point repeating them.

I have ever watched a Japanese video clip on a 5-lap race which pitted the R34 Skyline V-Spec against R33 Skyline, RX-7 RS, NSX-S, NSX-S.Zero, Evo V GSR etc. It was a test race for the purpose of showing off the performance of the R34 V-Spec against the other performance Jap cars. The skyline managed to catch up (third from last) on starting grid (total 7 cars) all the way to finish in the second place. The RX-7 came first. I think given 2-3 more laps the Skyline might have taken first place. The NSX did very well but was not able to perform as well as the Skyline at the corners.

Personally, I love the Skyline R34. I was sort of influenced by AF when I began this hobby and noticed that of all the performance street vehicles the Skyline looks pretty original. The shape of the Skyline slowly grew on me. I love every inch and every curve of it. It is also a very "manly" car in terms of its looks. The body shape appears "muscular" in a gentle manner without looking absurd, ricey or weird. It has a shape which it can call its own without any pretext of trying to look like a Ferrari, Lamborghini or a Porsche. The Honda NSX is also very good looking.

The Bayside Blue version of the R34 is drop-dead gorgeous. It looks cool yet "comfortable" enough to "join the crowd" on the public roads. I would imagine driving a Ferrari or another branded super car will attract too much attention. But I feel that it is "just right" for a Skyline balancing looks while blending in with the rest of the traffic.

dun really like the 33 as much as the 34 and 32

and also..... i like low sleek, strem line cars....... rx-7's =D

but dont get my wrong i luv skylines as well, not as much as rx-7's

I used to think the R-34 was very ugly then I changed my mind the more I saw them. My favorite is the R-32 for the raw beauty of it.

I like the skylines, eespecially the 2000GTR's those are probably my favorites over an R34. I'd probably kill for a factory VSPEC II NUR edition R34 with GM chmpagne paint. All stock, 2khp, don't matter. What I like about them is they aren't like a lowered honda with a fart cannon around every corner. My very rich freind's dad gave him an R33 gtr as a present like four years ago, and I love his car. Just dont like the fact that he lives far away and I hardly get to see it. All in all, the GTR is a great performance beast. AWD, 1500hp capable, I just dont like the puny 2.6L engine. If it were like 3, or 3.5 I'd love it even more.

As far as the models go, I think it's just they are built because they are nice cars, have a great reputation, and there's nothing that you can do to one (or any car in this case) and it not be cool in someones eyes.

i hear you all talking about "the raw power of the skyline" in actuallity the skyline only has 280 hp. i love the car but its not that special.

the only thing that makes the skyline what it is, is its strong engine and the fact it is turbo-charged.the turbo makes it very easy to get power out of it, without doing heavy mods to strengthen the engine.

stock though its an average daily driver car with a sports car soul. i hate people who think that the skylines are the fastest cars in the world stock (yes there are people this ignorant). this is mostly due to the fast and the furious.

although i would not be comparing this car to a ferrari on the road, ferrari's are exotics, this is a sporst car. with only 280 stock hp any ferrari can match or over power this car easily.

to sum it all up this car is an aggresive looking car with POTENTIAL. it may not be popular for this among people who are un-knowledgable about cars, but its how it made this car get popular to people who know tunning, and the tunners made it popular to the every day person.
