Re: SLP Loudmouth

from my experience with catbacks.. Flowmaster gives the deep aggressive sound that honestly no other cat back gives.. resinator mufflers systems are very raspy and sound like trumpets.. i know cause my cousin has the slp loud mouth on his 02 firehawk.. yes his is louder cause he also has a y pipe and headers, but its sounds retarded.. it sounds like a v6 running open heads or a harley.. sounds very different from a nasty V8.. Personally i hate magnaflow cause theres systems were created by a 10yr old and never fit right.. Bassani is my first choice, but i rather be able to make my car payments so they don't repo it.. its way too much money for just a little more quality.. its like going with a spoon header on a civic opposed to like DC sports.. the spoon gives like 1hp over the dc and it cost 1,200k.. i'm happy with the sound of my flowmaster cat back.. and along with the underdrive pullies i got along with it it really feels stronger.. for future purposes please back up statements with facts such as dyno charts..

I have a couple things to say, first of all im glad to start so many arguements haha second of all Flowmaster adds hp and torque, which is why ive decided to go with it, especially since i found out going with a large open 3inch pipe on a v6 would cut the torque away. On top of all that I found out when the 3.4liter orginally died in 99 it was replaced with a 3.8 and RAVIN EXHAUST...sweetie please never again do i wanna hear that mentioned u piece of shit.

Which flowmaster did you hear on what car? If this Ravin exhaust is all its hyped up to be we'll all see them around and giving Flowmaster a run for their money. Yes, please do give us a sound clip...

- and dyno results.

Like I said before, the Flowmaster 80 series muffler is basically a swap with the stock muffler and is designed to give the most increase in HP for a 2.5" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet exhuast. (they also make one with a 3" inlet too, dual 2.5" outlets).

I've got the 2.5" in and dual 2.5" out with pipes that actually constrict believe it or not to 2 1/4" to fit the stock rectangular tips (I've got Edelbrock shorties up front). I know I'm losing some horse with the stock tips but the sound is out of this world! The whole bloody muffler & pipes shake like crazy at idle. Although one day I'd like to replace the entire exhaust with ideally a set of Finish Line Performance LT's and a Corsa catback, I think I'd hate myself for giving up the awesome sound she makes now.

I know what you mean Violator when you say it sounds like you're pushing 500+ HP! (I'd like to think I'm not far behind that! I hope to be close to that at the flywheel this summer!! )

Re: SLP Loudmouth

thats awesome man im young i need to save up the money to be in those ranges some day...check out the website they dont have that great of sound clips. they do have some kind of charts comparin to flowmasters. But ive heard the both because i have Ravin on my 98 TA and my friend has flowmasters on his 2000 TA and mine is noticably louder when i rev it up in idle they are close to the same if not a bit louder in flowmaster but when i kick it man it roars much louder.

Re: SLP Loudmouth

eh, that 5.0 sounds like shit.. it's not as deep as a flowmaster system and all it does is crackle when you back off.. sounds cheap.. now i'm wiping my ass with raven exhaust

I know. I have seen it on 3 different cars from their previous dynos. Only difference was the flowmaster cat back added on. All the cars were dyno'd and the correction factor was used so its not the dynos.

Really? what mods do you have on your car? who did your programming and using what program? what injectors are you using? whats the injector pulse rate? What blower do you have? pulley sizes/how fast are you spinning the blower? etc.

Oh, and the 3.4 was replaced in mid 95 in the F-body. It did not manage to get all the way to 99 on the F-body platform...
