that's some poor logic.
1) since when is suspension the same as drive train?
2)you can't tell me that this FWD cadillac is an econobox
or my car, or an Acura TL or hundreds of other FWD cars, including the type r integra. maybe RWD/AWD is best for most performance applications but it doesn't mean FWD is for economy purposes.

And for the record the ITR uses a signifcantly more performance orintated suspension set up than the WRX, its the sole reason its faster, it has more grip, and better handling which make for the WRX's greater hp.

hey the subject says ITS so are u guys talkin about the type S rsx? or the type R integra? well yea the integra type R is made for the track/circuit hence the type RACING and with only 215 or 220hp it can match the wrx for sure

Re: Place your bets! ITS vs. WRX

you guys realize that a exhaust system a WRX is going to give it WAAAY more power then an exhaust system on an ITR? for two reasons
1 forced induction cars period respond to that particular mod better then N/A
2 the WRX has 3 cats in its exhaust system as most cars have one... getting rid of those will dramatically increase the HP numbers as opposed to other cars getting the same type of exhaust system

1. RWD is better for cornering and acceleration, but I'll admit that a good FWD suspension can make up for some of its inadequacies.
Here are some technical reasons why RWD is betterhttp://www.corollaperformance.com/TechInfo/RWD.html

2. That Cad is an econobox. Why spend all that money for an overblown grocery getter. Although I prefer American cars I am much more loyal to RWD. I would rather have a BMW or Mercedes than a Cadillac.

Re: Place your bets! ITS vs. WRX

i just can't see a $32,000 car being referred to as an econobox. a dx civic, a mitsubishi marage, a geo anything, those are econoboxes.

I'd rather have a bimmer or mercedes too. Its drive platform doesn't reflect its economic viability to me though.

Re: Place your bets! ITS vs. WRX

I dont know why you guys are even arguing about this... Look up the stats on car-stats.com.

WRX~ 14.1
Type R~ 14.8

The WRX is also going to respond a lot better to exhaust than the honda. My $80 homemade exhaust cut about .2-.3 second off my quarter mile time.

No kidding. I don't really get where y'all are coming from saying the ITR is a match for the WRX in a straight line. Cuz it's not even close. The distance becomes even greater when you consider how much the exhaust will help the WRX and how much it won't help the ITR.

The ITR is a better road course car than a truly stock WRX, but springs and a sway bar will fix that.

They either wern't racing, or didnt know how to drive.
I'm pretty sure he was racing, considering we were at a drag strip. It's was only a 1000ft strip, and he trapped higher so we probably would have taken me in the 1/4, but again off the bottle I'm much slower than even a stock WRX. He had intake, header and exhaust BTW. He was never able to beat a 12.9 in the 1000ft, my best on intake and exhaust was 12.7, and I've seen a WRX with exhaust only go 11.5. The only other Type R I've ever raced was one that was reportedly Jackson Racing Supercharged, although I can't confirm that. It was in the 1000ft again, and I beat him too (though on nitrous this time)

Re: Re: Re: Place your bets! ITS vs. WRX

Iv seen the owner of a car run consistant 15s, 4-5 times in a row. It was new model car, but he had owned it for about 6 months. Someone who had never, ever driven the car, even that model of car before, got in it and on thier first run did a low 13. 2 seconds faster.

Someone might be at the track, and racing hard, and if they don't know how to drive will still be very slow.

I once drove a guy's Celica GTS a whole second quicker than him at the track. I'd never set foot in a GTS before pulling into the staging lanes, so I know what you mean, I'm just relaying my personal experience.
