Re: Initial D iTR (DC2R) 56K BEWARE!

Nice progress Shorty.....

Though it is a model and no should care 86SR5 is correct in some aspects. A lot of bends in the exhaust can be restrictive even with mandrel bent pipes. Angled mufflers are meant for straight through exhausts. N1 style cat-backs have the fewest bends for optimal high-end power (i.e.-for high rev racing).

Street exhausts like the Greddy SP or Apex-i Dunk use mandrel bends and mimic the stock exhaust route. This adds power throughout the powerband, low to high in very small amounts. The straighter the exhaust the more top end you gain and the more low end power you lose. It's always a compromise with aftermarket parts.

In turn Shorty your exhaust is a street exhaust with an N1 look. The bend isn't necessary for that application as you can see it would be more beneficial to go straight instead of angled but the look is good.

Re: Re: Re: Initial D iTR (DC2R) 56K BEWARE!

Straight piping will flow better than curved, but mandrel bent is very nicely done, no bumps or kinks. Anyway, why did you angle the muffler when it could've been straight?

Re: Initial D iTR (DC2R) 56K BEWARE!

angled mufflers just look cool. most drift cars have an angled muffler. and to be totally correct a DC2 ITR has a 52mm exhuast (just over 2") and a Vtec engine reponds well to 2 1/4-2.5" pipes as it doesnt restrict their rev happy nature. sorry bout being off topic.
that teg looks good.

I dont declare any fwd (cept those that are AWD) drift cars, and fish tailing, assdragin, e-braking is not real drifting. anyway, hope to see this finished soon.

Thanx for telling them Andrew.

I got some time to work on it, i finished up the suspension and interior. My bro's friend just wanted a full black interior so i did what he wanted. I am also going to paint the exhaust black aswell. Next thing i have to do is primer and paint the rims gold and prep the car for the paintjob. Tell me what you guys think.

oooh man that is tight! Just the right(if not realistic) stance...not super slammed like most import cars I see. The interior is good too. Is it just one color or did you highlight the seatbacks?

Re: Initial D iTR (DC2R) 56K BEWARE!

Suggestion...how about trimming out the front grilles and pushing the radiator forward and adding some pipes for that turbo look?

I agree drifter_x, I suck too, can't get a real sideways drift.
