no you were very clear. In your first post you claimed very clearly and vehemently I might add that is imposible for a supra to acheive 900 hp on stock internals. You claimed 700 to be the max for a short time.

then after the proof I posted you changed your statement and claimed that 900hp in acheivable for a short time before blowing up. so all of a sudden you raised the bar from 700 to 900.

and btw those 900hp supras last more than a few seconds, they are even fairly reliable

So how about you act like a man and admit you were wrong especially after your little outburst on my account in the first post.

Also would the N/A be preferable to the Turbo and is auto or manual is best?

Thank you to all the people who replied to this post (even if some did lose track of the thread). My wife and I have bought a 1994 Supra 5 speed N/A with 98,000Km (60,000 miles) on the clock. It looks fantastic, handles like a dream and even with only 220 BHP it still has great performance.

Re: 300ZX vs Supra MkIV

Why not forget both and get a Mazda RX 7??? LOL.

Ok in all seriousness, I'm not a fan of Toyota at all, but I will agree that their engineering of the Supra is top-notch. The engine is a twin turbo unit, so it will use more fuel, but its a reliable unit and when driven correctly, can prove to be as economical as you want it.
Toyota has excellent build quality, so you need not worry about the rest.

As for the Nissan, I cannot comment much, as even though I'm a fan of the car, I don't have a clue to its faults. Merits are that it looks awesome, is powerful and its a Nissan, which means its reliable. There are loyalists to both sides who will argue one merit over the other, but ultimately the decision will lie with you.
If you're planning to surprise your wife, you might want to look into stuff like practicality as well. You're gonna need to consider her preferences.

Like I said earlier, you could look into a RX7 while you're at it. Or if you don't like that, a Mitsubishi 3000GT.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm sure the car will serve you well..
