Re: RX-8 vs. S200?

ok maybe I was exagerating when I said it would SIT there but it will have a shitty launch if you launch near redline. Im not talking theory or numbers here, Im talking from what Ive seen.

Re: RX-8 vs. S200?

Your talking about a car with no torque, it would have a better launch then you might think, this thing has no torque, i can launch my FWD car from 2500 anytime when its dry out on any roads, with it making approx 150-180 ft(peak of 240 ft-lbs at 4800 rpm) -lbs of torque, and have no wheel spin what so ever, not even a chrip (kinda sad eh?). So you dont think a RWD car, which has much better physics, would have better luck with 150 ft-lbs?

Re: RX-8 vs. S200?

If you notice my quote was from someone saying launching near redline, the cars redline is 9krpm max torque is around 7,500 I think, peak hp of 240 around 8,300rpm
my car is fwd too, I have 180hp and 126ft-lbs, if I launch near redline I will spin like crazy, my normal launch at the track is around 3,500rpm for a little bit of wheel spin but better than launching at idle with very little torque. And like I said before, I was talking from what Ive seen at the track not what I think from looking at numbers. By the way, just wondering what kind of car do you have that is fwd and 240ft-lbs?? sounds like srt4

i launch at about 2500..

very little spin, pretty much just takes off. Integra..

i had a totalled integra a while ago that i beat the HELL out of before i gave it to the insurance company. i revved it to the rev limiter and dropped the clutch (redlines at 6500, revved it to 6800). spun forever, never stopped until i let off the gas, and this was with grippier than stock tires on aftermarket 15s, bridgestone potenzas (195/50zr15). wasnt much done to it either, just intake, exhaust, straight pipe, ecu.
