I voted for the Shelby, I just like it. I would vote the Z second though by far.

I would never pay 38k for that shelby, especially when ford will let u buy the exact same upgrades on a normal GT for about 2.5k. It appeals to people who are completely in love with the shelby name only it seems.

My vote is for the 350z in this comparo.

Yeah when you can pick up a new GT for 16k (local deal I saw on the TV), it's not worth that price to get a Shelby but it's the best I think...then the 350Z.

My choice? The 350Z the Shelby's a close second but it's a Ford for god sakes come on now.

Well, the 350z seems like it should be the winner here, but my vote's for the Audi. Being the lightest, I think it will be the most fun to drive, I like the looks, and you get the typical Audi luxury. The 350z gets a close second.

Re: Audi TT 2.0T vs Ford Shelby GT vs Mazda RX-8 vs Nissan 350Z

as much as i dislike the newer mustangs i would have to choose the shelby...solely because it has the most aftermarket support. the sky is the limit for those cars and for not so much money relative to the others. of course i would rather buy a regular GT...of course i would rather buy a 15 year old mustang foxbody. that's just me.

mazda's rotary engines are amazing but the performance is just not there yet. i can't stand 350Zs. if it weren't wrong wheel drive the audi would take be very nice.

The article is comparing the cars as they stand stock, not what you can do to them with aftermarket support. If that were the case, then my vote would be switched to the Stang. I would never buy that TT, did you see the sticker on it?! If I'm paying over 40k, I want something just a little better then an Audi TT.

You mean a VW golf with a 2 seater body designed to appeal to the female market?
The TT always, and always will be about the image more than anything else.
It's the current Hairdressers car, taking over from the MGF, the MX5 and the MGB.

The Z would have to be my choice on this one. The Shelby would be a close second, but it just costs too much to put it in first for me.

Woah you got your info messed up, the rx-8 is the lightest in this camparo.

And its obvious what i would choose, i mean I do own an RX-8 and I did choose it over. Main reasons why I choose it, slightly better handling, lighter weight (Alot lighter and you can feel it) the sound of the rotary is music to me. It has more comfort than the 350 does and better fit and finish instead of the plastic interior that the 350 has. The RX-8 has 50/50 balancing all the time where the 350 you need to shift the weight to acheve the 50/50 that they claim.

Re: Audi TT 2.0T vs Ford Shelby GT vs Mazda RX-8 vs Nissan 350Z

See the problem with tests like these is that they dont really compare apples to apples its more like apples to bananas.

I mean no wonder the rx-8 is going to come out heavier in this comparison, they have the GT package which has everything on it. The sunroof makes the car 100 pounds heavier, the front seats (which has leather heated seats) wiegh 25 pounds heavier than the stock 25 pound cloth seats the navigation system and all the wiring wieghs another 40-50 pounds.

Remove all that stuff and get the packaging like mine (the sports package) and you have a car that weighs in around 2800 pounds (So whose lighter now?)
