Re: Nissan s14 to Skyline R34 body conversion
Anybody have an actual quote on how much this would be? Speculation doesn't mean anything. There's making your 240sx into a Skyline, or styling it like a Skyline, 2 different things with a whole lot of money in between.

Re: Nissan s14 to Skyline R34 body conversion
a japanese company "full house" has actually done this conversion. I can't find the pics though!! its a red car with black wheels, "full house" across the windshield banner, japanese front plates read "something 33" then the next line '37-88'
actually it might be an R33 conversion, I'm not completely sure on the headlight differences between R33 and R34, but it looks pretty good to my eyes. |

Yeah I think I've seen it too, I think it's the R33 and it looked really good. Leave it to the Japanese to do the "unthinkable" and make it work.

Re: Nissan s14 to Skyline R34 body conversion
I never would have said its unthinkable... its a simple front end change that any competant body shop experienced with modification/fabrication should be able to handle. I'd say from the looks of it that the front fenders had to be cut, the hood was modified, and the bumper was just cut in the middle and sectioned in to fit. but its tight.

Re: Nissan s14 to Skyline R34 body conversion
The R32 Parts Are A Direct Bolt On W/ The Exception Of The Rearend To The S13 (use The Coupe To Build A True Skyline.
The R33 Is Direct To The S14 Except The Rearend. The R34 Is Direct To The S15 Except The Rear. The Rear Is Not A Direct Swap Because Of The Unibody You Would Have To Cut And Paste To Make The Rear End Work. The R34 And R33 Share Similar Mounting Points So I'm Sure Its Possible With Little Custom Work Up Front, But The Rear End Is All Custom And Thats Where It Gets Pricey. |

Re: Nissan s14 to Skyline R34 body conversion
Y'all just leave the boy alone, if he likes the R34 looks, he should do the swap, it would be alot cheaper that paying 80-100K for an R34, then the maintenance cost. I want to put an R33 conversion cuz I can't afford an R34, and I want an R33 conversion cuz I can't afford either Skyline. You say it is cheaper to just buy a Skyline, did anyone ever consider insurance rates, what of routine maintenance, parts if you damaged something, it is gonnan cost a hell lot more in the long run. One of my main reason for not swapping a JDM engine is the fact that I work on my own cars, and I can't imagine having to have every damn thing shipped to me, this was a big reason I went with the SHO engine, everything is domestic, hell I could crack the block and go buy one from where ever i want, $450-800 junkyards or e-bay, $130 at pull-a-part if they have it in stock, and best yet, there guys here with tons of knowlege who can tune the block, instead of some fool using my car as a guinea pig to test their skill.
I love the Skylines for what they are, not just looks, but the AWD system, all their capabilities, I like the 240 cuz of it's capabilities, I can't afford a Skyline, so I am putting together a jig saw puzzle to get what I wan't since I can't afford what I want. If I could buy one, I would, I would give up sex for 2yrs f*** 40 days, to have a skyline, I would do damn near anything. I respect anyone with an SR or RB swap, cuz frankly I am too Broke to do it.

Re: Nissan s14 to Skyline R34 body conversion
this is a foolhardy endevour... consider the measurments of a r34 and an s14. waste of time and money and a good car (or two). i recently got back from japan (2 days ago) and say silvias and skylines next to each other... the size and dimensions arent very close.
if you were to do any kind of skyline conversion bodywork wise id go with a 32 or 33. ive seen 213 coupes with 32 front end conversoins and those look pretty good because the lines match up fairly well. the only car that i have seen with more than an r34 headlight conversion is a late model nissan primera (i think) in GB with quite a bit of skyline body paneling, but all of it was customized by the owner who is a pro bodyshop owner.... i doubt u have those skills. sorry for the flame but i doubt u'll have the luck to get someone with the skills or expertise to do this, even if you have have the flawed vision and the money. |
