that sounds like a honda engine, nissan makes the hp and torque pretty consistent with each other, something like 170hp and 160lb torque would be more like it. the gap between them isnt that much compared to other engines.

You are very true. The SE-R Spec V has 141hp and 150lb of trq at the wheels. I should have thought a little longer b4 I posted.

Actually, the SR20VE does have a rather large range between hp and torque. The output, I believe, is 187hp and 144ft.lbs The numbers are kinda weird due to the translation from ps to hp (i think). But it's still a much larger gap than 8-9 hp that the SR20DE differs. There is also the SR16VE that puts out 170hp and 119ft.lbs. And the N1 SR16VE puts out even more hp, somewhere around 200 if i'm not mistaken.

But then again, what do I know. I live here in the US, where
only Honda and Toyota have vtec/VVL/vvtl-i etc...
Don't forget about your big brother the Q45.

It has the strongest engine in its class—a 32-valve, 4.5-liter DOHC V-8
that pumps out 340 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 333 pound-feet of
torque at 4000 rpm.

It’s a beautiful thing, with continuously variable valve timing and a
variable intake manifold, titanium valves, lightweight pistons, and an
electronically controlled throttle chamber, good for a blistering 0-to-60-

mph time of 5.9 seconds.

Yea its a long post, but I know it put a smile on your face

Yeah, i know... I think every Nissan/Infiniti leads it's class in Hp, except for the G20. I was mainly referring to the 4 cylindar market. We do get the SE-R, which is a great car, but i would have much rather seen a SR20VE than the QR25DE. But, the torque and displacement is what most consumbers want, so I lose.

We all loose,

but we also win because you never hear........

"Damn there goes another G20"

Just wait until someone creates a high-boost QR25DE monster.
