great thanks for all the help everybody!! So i started planning out what I was going to start out with. Please change or and anything needed!

1. since the muffler shops closed today i'll clean out my intercooler.

2. Next week get a 3" downpipe

3. High Flow Cat

4. 3" pipes with 3" in and 3" out Apexi N1 muffler

5. DSM tuners said to do this 2. K&N Filter ($40).
3. Intake Pipe ($29 - Phantom Roadworks). would it not be the same to get a K&N FIPK made for our cars?

6. Get my boost gauge

7. BOV

8. boost controller and turn that stock turbo up until i have the $$ saved for a 20G turbo.

with this mods how much more HP will i get from mods 1-7?

sounds like you have your list planned out pret good to me. your not really gonna see much gain from an upgraded BOV it will just hold better at high boost. alot of people say the greddy type s is no good an thats true if your running high boost but since you'll be on the stock turbo it will do fine IMO plus it sounds bad hehe. your should see some nice #s with the exhaust how much I dont' know I'm not gonna hand out a number cause it varies if I were just guessing and this is just a guess Id say with your entire list you should see about a 20hp gainthats with higher boost and full exhaust you could see much more who knows. so your looking at like a minimum of 230hp to the crank but WHP is all that matters. about your guages just go to pep boys and grab a couple autometer thier great. except thier A/F is crap dont waist your money. that should get you on your way once you get some more cash flow it would be wise to upgrade your turbo and intercooler along with you fuel system with bigger injectors, pump, and fuel pressure regulator when you get to that point you start getting into more advanced stuff like DSMlink etc etc.good luck and just check here as often as possible thier so much to learn ask alot of ?s. also check out www.dsmtuner.com and www.dsmtalk.com really good sites.later

I havent looked at thost "upgrade path" pages in a while. This is the order I modded my car in, and I recomend this to most poeple.

Boost guage (AWLAYS do this first)
K&N filter
Homemade HomeDepot intake pipe (or Dejon tool)
UICP (dejon tool)
1g BOV, recirculated of course
3" turbo back exhaust (I did 2.5" first...)
Boost controller set to ~16 psi.

This was good for 14.2 at ~94 mph. For what its worth, I ran 14.3 on jsut the 2.5" exhaust and K&N So do those first. With the above I ran 13.7 at 99 on race gas.

Next, to make it more reliable:

Clutch
4 spider center diff from Speed Design

Then, time to prepare for a bigger turbo

DSMlink, or pocketlogger and AFC/MAFt
Pump (depends on what turbo)
Injectors (depends on how big you are going to go with the turbo)
Turbo and FMIC together. And a real FMIC, not some name brand POS
If you go for 16g or smaller turbo, you can do the turbo first and FMIC later.
HKS Cams

Like I always say, check out www.posracing.net, Joe Gs car. Thats the cheapest way to run 11s.... His best time is 12.07. A good launch away from 11s, with the mods listed above

when i get to the turbo step what do you all think about a twin turbo instead of one big turbo. or in the end would it all come out the same? cause on a twin you have your small one that gets spooled up and then the bigger comes in, or just stick with one big turbo and wait for it to get spooled up?

Re: Stock turbo

the K&n is it just a drop in? I can get a new K&N FIPK for about $80 plus S/H! Would this be a way to go cause to do it yourself would cost $40 for filter and $30 for intake pipe =$70bucks

Re: Stock turbo

by the way FMIC is short for _____________.

sorry i'm pretty new at this and have picked up what i do know from here and there. even though i have had my eclipse for over a year and a half i really have not drove it much cause i put it in my garage and bought me a truck (dodge dakota 5.9 R/T) (my other toy) cause i need a truck at the time and thought about selling it to get my truck but all the people i talked to said that i would be sorry if i did and man i'm glad i didn't! Sorry for the long speach just thought that i might need to share my reasons for not knowing some of this stuff.

No point in twin turbo setup on a little 4 banger

The K&N is the filter and the adapter to mount it to the airflow sensor. Thats all. No intake pipe is included. You still need to buy one of those, or do the 20 dollar home depot version. The drop in K&N is a waste of time, because hte whole point of upgrading is to get rid of the restrictive stock airbox, and make more room for an aftermarket upper intercooler pipe (UICP).
