Re: Monte SS or Neon SRT-4??

I would go with the SRT4 they run low 14s high 13s
mustang GTs run the same. Ive always though of the monte of something an older guy would get.

Re: Monte SS or Neon SRT-4??

Well, heres my opinion... Monte carlos are ok cars, but even with the supercharger they run no less than low 15's.. Plus they are kinda gay.. whats up with the whole front wheel drive deal.. i'd rather buy an 88 SS over a new one... The srt4 will always be faster.. cheack this out:

monte carlo SRT4

automatic 5 speed
15 sec 1/4 times low 14/high 13 sec
big and heavy not too small and lite
cost more 20-22k
poor handling good handling
poor aftermarket support exellent support

bottom line is the SRT is a much faster car for the money.. Not to mention a much funner driving experience...

Re: Monte SS or Neon SRT-4??

The new montes are supercharged and supposedly run 14.7 stock, which is sweet cause its basically the same plateform as the impala ss and the older GTP.. which means they are easy to mod and can be made crazy fast, but so can the srt-4.. only problem i have with the srt-4 is it's reputation as a neon, and the dealerships marking the car up a ton. But you really can't compare the two cause they are nothing alike. Peformance wise, the srt-4 is better in everyway and the after market support is bigger. It comes down to what you like, cause each car gets respect from a certain crowd that likes it.

But if you wanna be a real man and get the ladies wet buy a spec V lol

2006 - Chevy introduces V-8 power in the Monte Carlo to help compensate for the horrible things they do to the front of the car.....

eping it. The supercharged 04 montes are a big disappointment. For starters they are about 200 pounds heavier, and do not offer enough power. The SC 04 montes come stock at 240 hp.Only 40 more HP then your 02.Youcan add a stage 1super charger to your exsisting monte and gain 60 hp just from that .If you went with the stage 4 you get about 390 hp at the wheels with the L36. If you went a step further by changing your motor to the L67, you would be well over 500 hp with a stage 4 super charger. I have not added a supercharger yet to my 01 monte, but I already have over 250 hp.
What all mods have you done? I added a K&N Air Filter yesterday.
