You know what my friend, I am no Paul Martin fan either - I would like to see more than anything else a minority government come out of the next federal election.
Being in Ontario I don't know/care much for this new Alliance party but I think its smart they teamed up with the Torries - hopefully they will be able to challenge the Liberal voters in Ontario this next election and even things out. You are right on PM Jean, he will go down in history as one of our greatest Prime Minister's - three straight majority governments, PM for 12+ years, etc... and he did accomplish a lot during his time. But face it, he has not been running jack shit for the better part of a year now and is little more than a figurehead for the Liberal's at this point.

Big business and the US will never let an NDP federal party take office, sadly...
While it's not good that we have only one electable political party, due to the split right vote, I think it'd be alot worse to see Harper in office. There's good reason why we have a moderate and slighty right party in power, we're a moderate and slightly right country. The PC are just right wing whores for business, always have been. The Alliance is a different story, under their reign, they would privatize every crown corporation we have, because obviously, a private corporation is going to be so much more efficient than a gov't corporation that they'll be able to provide a better service at a lower price and still make a profit that will keep their shareholders happy.  They'd also jack up tuition fees, cut gov't services and replace them with privatized services that you have to pay for, etc. The burden would fall squarely on the people, although we might get lower taxes for big business out of it. Yay.  The liberals may not be the best choice, but IMO, there is no choice...

Did you say Harper suggests all Canadians spray?? three times a-day? Anyway sick jokes aside, we all know that anything President Bush says is scripted by a Palm Pilot. He does not have a point of view, unless it's on that palm with full instructions. This is quite a off track forum, luv it.
