yeah, there's something "cool" about kids trying to get into the 15's with a econo car! ha ha...I love going to the track & seeing 16 sec 1/4 after 16 sec 1/4 mile....yes, even with SI's..

I know it is funny seeing econo cars with small engines get in the 16's but i still respect the amount of power honda was able to pump out of the small b and h engines...I think what honda has done is awesome and yet made it affordable for young car enthusiasts like myself to be able to start building our cars and see what accomplishment we have made...Hey it keeps me off the streets...hehe

Peace

Does honda have anything to do with people pumping a few hundred HP's out of a Vtec? its the people who are doing it that should get respect, not Honda. yes they put out decnt engine, but they are that fast, so I give respect to the guys with 250+ hp coming out of those 1.6's!

As a true performance street car, the only thing weak link is the FWD to me.. which I also have in my Jetta but otherwise the Civic is what a performance car should be for me.. really, really compact and light Fast is fun but I'd rather a very nimble moderately fast car over a really fast bigger car.. well in this price range anyway

Yeah but then you look at something like the H22A engine and you have about 100hp/l (i.e. Prelude) and the S2000 which makes 120hp/l out of their engine.

And a Viper puts out something like 53hp/L! I'll take the Viper. The fact is that displacement makes it possible to get high amounts of torque, and "hp/L" ratios mean absolutely nothing when it comes down to performance. power:weight ratios are something else...

Yes but i was pointing out the fact that Honda was able to squeeze that much out of a small engine like the 2.0 liter S2000 engine...I'm talking technology...Yes it could mean nothing but in the case of Honda i think it means alot...For a small engine and light to semi-light car the amount of torque pulled out of these things is incredible.

Woopdy doo! Lots of power out of a small engine!

"yeah, I that mustang had three carlengths on me before we got through the intersection....but, my civic's putting out like, 100 hp/L, so I think I won."

I agree that this efficiency is amazing....but in terms of performance, it really doesn't mean anything.

Yes thats another plus of the small engines...They get a good amount of power and are yet fuel efficient...Oh yeah and i wanna see a mustang v6 beat a S2000, heck bring on the SVT...If the mustang can take on a S2000 and beat it by 3 car lengths there must be something wrong with the driver. I've taken out a few mustangs in my lude and a few GT mustangs, early 90s. And while their fuel economy is not too great they are still challenged by a four banger...I'm not here to start a flame or anything but I'm just trying to say that Honda has built a race bred engine CAPABLE of doing more with mods...Why have people lost respect for small engines??

Oh yeah a civic putting out 100hp/l should not lose to a stock mustang...considering that this person has probably done extensive modding.

A stock Si will beat a stock mustang (I know from experience). A GT that cost a few thousand more than an Si will beat the Si. BUT lets take the extra 5 thousand one will spend on the GT and put that 5k into a Vortec Supercharger for the Si. That Si will be beating the GT. Which car is better? Both cars were designed for different things. The mustang for 1/4 mile speed the Si for handleing and zippiness. But if i take the Vortec and put it on the Si then the Si has all three things 1) 1/4 mile times 2) Handleing 3) Zippiness I'll take the Si. And I can compare the cars b/c I've driven an Si and regular Mustang and a GT Mustang and I've driven the Camaro Z28 SS

Talking Nice look in here!!

Oh boy...hehehe...I can feel the love in here...All I know is that at the track..autocross..I spank Stangs and Nsx's...I love getting real close to there bumper and look at their eyes...lol...Honda knows how to make engines...If Dodge made an engine as efficiant...it would puch out a little more HP out of its big engines...imagine if Honda made a V12...it would be like 1500hp!! LOL Ok...enough. I left SHO to get away from mindless bickering...but this is sweet!! PeacE!

Cool

Honda does make great engines but come one how can you compair them to Dodge?? It isn't fair. Honda makes bikes and engines etc. Dodge's only high preformance car is the Viper. And I don't think Honda will be putting a V-12 in there cars anytime soon. The new NSX has a V-8.
