haha thats funny, yeah mine didn't have a tach either, and it didn't even have a passenger side view mirror, I guess dodge made the second mirror an option ...

but, you were keeping up with 94 gsrs, with intake and exhaust and im assuming 5 speed, and the gsr was stock. but an automatic stock neone must be slow as he!!. and you listed slow cars that you beat. even the chevy with a 350 and dual exhaust, probably an old 1 ton huh?

one more thing.

wouldnt anything, especially the superbly engineered neon, having intake, exhaust and a turbo wiht no fuel management, no intercooler, no BOV or wastegate have blown up on the drive home after buying it if the seller had just put it on before he bought it???

I bet he took a cheap turbo form a junkyard, bearings were froze, and he knew it wouldnt boost anyways so he just threw it under the hood to get extra cash when he sold it.

Yes w/o a waste gate the turbo would over boost. And you don't have CAI with turbos I feel a little BS comming on

I was just listing cars that I had raced and beat, to show that they aren't the slowest car in the world. And as for my friend's neon with the turbo, all I know is what he told me...and what I saw under the hood. Actually, I don't think he has a cold air intake, just a scoop to catch air, but it isn't very big, and it isn't noticeable unless you pop the hood. I would think that it would've blown by now...he said he got a ticket for going 120 in it, so you'd think he would've had to at least go over 4k rpm's...and by then the turbo would (should) be kicked in...it would be pretty funny if they guy he bought it from just put it in there, but made sure it didn't actually do anything I want to race him, because he thinks it's so fast...I bet I'd win
Oh, and the only car I raced that I expected to lose to (besides the 350) was the Prelude, and that was just because it was a stick. I knew it didn't have a lot of power, being a Honda non-vtec. But I expected even a non-vtec Honda to be able to beat an automatic Dodge Neon. Maybe he just sucks at shifting...I've never ridden in a car with him before, so who knows. Like I said, I'm just telling you what I've experienced, I'm not trying to show off. I think if I was trying to show off I'd be talking about the new gsr I just bought and put a turbo on and blah blah blah...yeah

but you could be a dodge fan/honda hater and come on the honda forums to say that stock neons are quick and stuff like that, not saying you are but theres always a chance. and I did test drive 97 i think neon 2 door 5 speed, it had no tach, so I had no idea where the engine was at but it never cut fuel so i must not have been overrevving it, and I mean it was fairly quick, but I had drove a 97 civic LX as well, sedan 5 speed, I/H/E. It felt a little quicker than the neon, and the neon was stock, made me consider the neon cuz then wiht boltons it would be pretty quick, but then i remembered 2 things, dodge isnt the best quality and the "laugh at me I drive a neon" factor. so I didnt buy it.

Yeah, good point. But I'm not I plan on saving my money for a while so I can buy an 8k or so gsr, and have money left over to put stuff on it. I just bought a '92 BMW 318 is, and it was only $4800. It should last me a really long time, and I should be able to pay it off really quickly since I just got a new job that pays a really good amount.

cool, thats what im in the market for right now. a 3rd gen GSR. good choice

I am going to find a combvo of the cheapest/nicest one in the entire US and fly there with friends and drive it back. like 8k gets you nice stock ones here, 7k gets you lowered, I/H/E rims/tires, spoiler, and similar ot lower mileage on the east coast.

Says alot about the S2K doesnt it, huh? A $30K+ Car keeping up with a $20k car?

Excuses, Excuses... Its always hard to admit when one car is faster that people have to resort to childish actions.

Im still waiting for my encounter with an SRT-4

They generally run the same times as an Srt-4. Theres been some drivers that dip in the 13s with stock 99+ Mustang GTs just like theres SRT-4 drivers running high 13s as well. It all depends on the driver. In ideal conditions with "good" drivers both cars should run high 13s. The norm should run in the low to mid 14s

I was at New England Dragway tonight saw 2 SRT-4 neon. Both ran mid to low 14's. Very impressive considering the get out of the hole like absolute shit.

vipers aint that fast.. i downloaded a movie about streetracing on kazaa,, it was a civic hatchback vs a dodge viper, it was a 1/4 mile race ,, the civic won that race. at the end u can see that the viper was catching up but it wasnt enough
