The V35 is the new Skyline...not the Skyline GT-R.

The next GT-R will come in 2007. It will not look like the concept picture you posted, according to Hiroshi Tamura, Nissan's product planner for the R34 and the upcoming GT-R.


P.S. You do realize that the GT-R is only part of an entire Skyline family, right?

Thanks for the help but there is a plain skyline (non-GT-R) I saw it on cardomain theres an entier section on it and then theres the GT-S.

but when the skyline hits the USA will it look like the V35 or are you not sure.

The GT-S is one of the "plain," or non-GT-R Skylines.

The V35 is only the Skyline sedan. The next GT-R will not look like it(it will be 2-door), nor will it look like the GT-R concept you posted.

The February '03 issue of the British magazine car had an article. It featured Hiroshi Tamura, aka "Mr. GT-R," Nissan's product planner for the R34 and the upcoming GT-R. He stated that the GT-R concept from 2001 was only a concept.

The December '03 issue of evo, another British magazine, mentions how Carlos Ghosn informed the press at the Tokyo Motor Show about the delay for the GT-R. Nissan had been so busy with producing new bread and butter cars, SUVs, and trucks(especially for the US), that they did not have the ability to work on the new GT-R too. The article also says that Lotus was mentioned as a collaborator in the development of the new GT-R.

i made a post about this in the US forum, but it seems the new GTR will be coming in 2007, preceded by a quick showing at the Toyko auto salon.

it seems although the skline was produced, the GTR was abondoned for a little while becasue nissan was busy redesigning the nissan/infinity lineup.

the concept car some guy posted is ONLY a concept, but the real design will most likely be made around that concept.

Something I just noticed yesterday. The Skyline debuted in 1955. It'd be a pity for the new GTR to be delayed till 2007, really. 2005 would be much better; to mark the 50th anniversary.

I guess they're choosing the 40th anniversary of the GTR instead (I think that was 1967)

At 2003 Tokyo auto show, Gosn announced that New GTR will revive with all Nissan got at 2007. Reading the Option magazine, it sounds like Nissan is going all out on this car, trying to regain the Real GTR back into Skylines again.

As for me that sound good cause I will not be ready to afford one until then

To be more precise, 1st gen, ALSI debuted at 1957. The GTR from the skyline lineup debuted at 1969

the skyline name continues only it has a new chassis (v35) but this car is called the nissan skyline 350gt (g35 in US) the new GT-R will not be based on the V35 but will still carry the 'R' just like the previous gt-r's like r32 and so on, but is said to have a vq engine twin turbo to produce about 450 hp, along with the suspension being work on by Lotus.

Just a small nit pick. Not all R32's had RB engines in them either.
