For that to happen you would have to cut a hole in your dash top to hide that tach in there which is not a bad idea but for someone that is not the richest person in the world, that is not first on my to-do list. Another thing is when your driving, since the civic dashboard goes up that high you don't really even notice it, you just look at the window and read your engine output. It's certainly less annoying and tacky then your "Big Gay Al" light in your car.

The tach cost like 130 back in 2000 but I don't know what it cost now. I havn't seen too many cars with it, just one at Nopi and one in this magazine. So I'm not sure if Summit even carries it but the manufacture of the product is called Defi (the "e" has an accent mark over it which I don't know how to do on this forum). Do a search on that name and see what comes up.

I just found the cite after I posted:

http://www.defi-shop.com/ (pretty cool site intro noted)

It says on the site that all the heads up display type devices have been discontinued The tech seems pretty basic. Just a display and a mirrior strategicly placed on the windshield. If you had some REALLY bright guages and the semi transparent mirrior material you could do this same thing, and have the guages displayed instead of numbers and LEDs.

Sounds like you have a project then. Only thing, i think it would look pretty tacky if you had a mirror glued to the inside of your windshield but hey, people think i have a big a$$ clock on my dashboard that's always wrong.

I don't know why they discontinued them, they weren't that bad. I guess they didn't get that much buisness for them; everybody wants a monster tach to scare the sh!t out of the passing vehicle. (and make you go blind at an increased rate)

I would need to find some of that semi-reflective film that came with the kit. No way I would tape a mirrior on my windshield.

I just got a dissapointment when I saw it today, I had invisioned something like the S2000 dash displayed up on your windsh- Wait... thats not a bad idea!

Thanks for the site!
