Ya like it was said just get a nice Q45 motor or even a new 04 Maxima motor then you got a nice ride.

Just get a y-pipe and shop around for your intake and find one you like the sound of. I recommend Injen, Frankencar, or Place Racing. For y-pipe, go Budget(yes, that is a brand). The y-pipe is the header mod for the Maxima.

My guess is that the Q45 engine will be too wide and possibly too long to fit in the Maxima's engine bay. Unless you're rebuilding the entire vehicles to go RWD, you'd have a tough time finding a transaxle strong enough for the current 4.5L V8. Besides, anything over 300hp provides extreme torque-steer. You'd be much better off beefing up the existing drivetrain.

this is not true, headers are different from y-pipe...headers carry the exhaust gases out from the engine, y-pipe connects the two headers to the cat

headers are supposed to be coming out soon, and will provide much higher gains than y-pipe, 20-30 fwhp from what i have heard

Actually, they have already tested headers for the Maxima and have found them to be useless as of now. I know what headers do and I know where they are. The reason I said the y-pipe is THE header mod for the Max is because it is comparable to the header mod for Honda's morons and I'm trying to relate to some of these dopes. Plus, the y-pipe runs off the headers.
