Serious.. i'm suprise some of those cars are so stock... Like that Viper... that thing didn't really have all that much on there...

Unless were talking about the CRX and then the road courses and handeling and shit would cause us to lose. I was amazed to see the Quartermile on that teg........he pulled like a 13 with all that hp. (can we say bad driver).

I understand that Hybrid's car isn't a prime example of a show car, but that 510 wasn't so showy either. He would have done real well with the driveability, real well with the efficiency, mediocre on the 1/4, pretty good on the road course, and that custom turbo set up on the b18 has gotta score a few points in the techy department...

And yea.. whats up with that Type R??? He did have a cool ass bypass valve dump thingy that exited the side of his bumper though!

i think the Skyline shoulda won, its a SKYLINE GTR33. who sees Skylines here in the states?? o well, i dunno how the Viper won, it looked like the Sky, Supra and Viper looked tied to ME.

agreed.

the skyline should have won?

they were looking tied?

really?

this wasn't an objective test.

there's points.
do the counting.

the viper is a true road racers car, and that guy can drive. (this viper specifically, not all vipers in general)

if you've never heard of him, you're missing out.

which cars were " so stock " ?

the viper was modded, the skyline wasn't really modded, the 3000gt wasn't really all that modded. the supra was hella modded...

the laminar wasn't all that modded, just a mostly stock rx7 drivetrain.

i'm missing what the argument is against the viper?

the fact taht if the skyline had scored alittle higher in something stupid like the show car portion and had gotten 5 more points. the skyline would've won. the reason why it didn't do too well on that portion was becuase it was too stock, lolz.

the skyline that competed wasn't motorex's(or whatever that guy's name was) original plan... the one they had planned to run in the USCC broke down right before the competition..

point taken...

however, keep in mind that for a stock skyline to do as good as it did is obviously impressive.

and it's understandable as to why it didn't score the points, b/c it WAS stock...

no one is disputing that...

but keep in mind that the viper was in no way your conventional stock viper.

it was thoughtfully modified, not just modded for the sake of mods.

smart mods as opposed to "ooh look at me" stuff...

i can appreciate that in any car, not just a viper

Yeah I remember hearing about that challenge. I believe that most cars must be lying about dyno numbers based off of their testing. Either that or there are some outrageously high dyno jets out there. I mean all these talks of 1000 rwhp supras, when they had a T76 turboed supra last year that didn't dyno anywhere near that HP. Heck now I wonder where my car would dyno

in regards to 1000 hp supras, it depends on where they're claiming the hp at .

if you make 750+ whp, you'll easily be making almost 1k at the crank...

and there are definitely 1000hp supras out there.

go take your car to a dyno.

and keep in mind where the claims are.

if they're claiming 1000 whp, i'm impressed... 1000 crank hp isn't an easy feat either, but it's still damn impressive...

Here is an "unofficial" list someone posted on supraforums:

1992 Acura NSX (3.3 liter twin turbo)
2003 Nissan 350Z (turbo)
2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII (Pruven Performance)
2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (7.0 liter 427cid - 599bhp at crank)
2003 Ultima GTR ( 5.0 liter BMW V12 - 2100lbs)
1996 Geo Metro
1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR (being replaced by 1991 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR)
1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo (479 rwhp @ 23psi; dual ball-bearing GT30)
1993 Nissan 300ZX TT (twin TD06 20Gs)
1995 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (twin HKS GT3037S)

the MR2 is definitely in. it is owned by Troy Truglio, an active club member. the last time he dynoed it, he made 479rwhp at 23psi. it's a pretty sick car...

you guys are funny......slective memory i guess.....the viper was the least modded.....it was funny to that it was one of the weakest cars out there.....

the skyline had over 600hp....yeah very close to stock.....

i can't belive that you guys still think that a gts viper cannot handle unless modded

Whys it gotta be "fuckin sean morris" ? The first year - Blackbird got sold - and Justins car was actually a faster car.

The 2nd year - that was after I left Motorex.

This year - Nicks R32 is 608 rwhp (11.14@128) and setup for road racing. It may be older - but all purists know that the R32 is the car.

R34's are for posers....

http://rbmotoring.com/gallery/view_a...mName=NicksR32

The only reason I got an R34 to drag race was because people "think" they are better. And part of getting sponsors is making the presentation.
