well first of all to correct some things, the S13's are lighter than the S14's, the S14 have the same power and torque as the 91-93 S13, and no the S14 engine doesn't have anymore potential than the S13 because its the same engine.
personaly I prefer the S13 hatchback since you asked our preference and if your planing on a SR swap I recommend you do some research because it doesn't seem as if you've done much. and if your money is tight I'd say either keep the KA(the engine already in both models if you don't know)or buy a new KA for about 1k with probably 30k on it and then mod it,add an exhaust, intake, etc. and then maybe add a turbo give it a lot of thought and research before you get into it, its always good to have a plan for your car before buying it |

yea, i do like the hatchback s13's to some extent. But the hatchback's rear window is actually heavier than the trunk of a coupe s13, but i don't really like the coupe's, but then again, i want to keep the car as light as possible without having to strip to much stuff out. and another thing, those old 5.0 are ugly as hell to me
so yea i guess it'll be smart just to get an s13 and just put the modern stuff i want on it rather than getting and s14 (altohugh the kouki's are sooooooo nice) so yea i've given it thought and i got the dough for the sr20 so i'll go with that, now i just gotta ask around to find out all that i possibly can, the do's and dont's, shit like that, thanks.

go with hatchback, they look better
only 30 lbs more... that's not gonna affect your speed AT ALL.... then again it could be the same weight... the spoiler i took off my car was over 20 lbs.

yup i agree, i was gonna go with the hatch too, JDM taillights look alot better of them anyways, wish i could find that carbon fiber mid-piece that says RPS13 on it, that would be sweeeet

yea yea i know, but that mid-peice i'm talking about is actually jdm, not that wannabe stuff. have you noticed its mainly honda owners claiming everything to the paint on their car is jdm? next time you know, it'll all be about DTM

my friend had the fastback, until his rear window shattered. there is no rear support, just glass. the coupe is a stronger, more riggid car...
i still have my fastback though....one day my glass will also shatter
