Having built one myself, I must comment that this is such a joy to build.

But the metal nose cover is a pain to fit.
And there are some odd assembly designs.

But such a good car.

I started to build the Lotus too; I had it in my shelve since 1994 when I inherated it from a deceased friend who had started the painting of the body. I tried to spray a layer on top of my friend's work, but that didn't work out. So I had to strip all the paint and start over again, which I did.

Now I finally put the bodywork in primer, and 2 layers of Metallic British Green (which I had left over from the Bentley) and 2 layers of clear. Looks pretty good, even if I say so myself As soon as I have the chance to show some pics I'll post them...

i look forward to seeing the progress

my progress has been slow, well stationary actually because of various problems caused by this heat wave we are getting at the moment. bassically i cant airbrush because the garage is getting too hot...its like an oven in there

It's looking pretty good. I love that colour scheme, although I'd prefer black IMHO.

Looks pretty nice with that yellow nose, makes it look like a true classic seven, although that is in sheer contrast with the metalised paint, which IIRC, isn't available , or at least wasn't available at that time...

Still, a damn fine effort...

Olivier.

The real Lotus Super 7 was also a kit if I'm not mistaken, so I guess everyone could spraypaint it any color he would like...

I don't think the kit came as a prepainted bodywork, so that is why I took the liberty of chosing a color scheme that I liked

completely correct...and it is still available as a kit under the name of caterham.

im not sure if you are aware, but the colour scheme you have chosen was a special paint job done for a lotus super 7 that apeared in the cult 60's series, The prisoner.

caterham then did a prisoner special replica thingy. in the early 90's...i think
