To those that ground the wire to the light nut or shock nut

Those are not solid grounds. Take some sand paper and remove paint and primer from the floor of the hatch/trunk area and put a nice sized screw through with a flat washer to hold down the ground. Current will travel a hella of a lot better this way for more power. Yes i do have tests that show this theory, .5 db gain from shcok tower to the floor.

from what i've heard, Lightning audio are excellent amps, these ones are just my buddys loaner amps for ppl and i bought one off him but he just grabbed one and didnt know which one it was, he still hasnt shown up yet tonight, but this setup with the 10s and the 12's..... also, how do u hook up 4 subs to one amp? is it possible? cuz i would like 2 do that when i know of some competitions in town

just put all the wires in the negitive port and all ur positives in the positive port

i dunno just something fishy to me about their stuff......i mean 20 bucks for a 10" brand new sub from best buy with audio i say you get what you pay for

not brand new, LIKE brand new, from a garage sale, the amp i bought off my buddy who gets new stock like every weekend now i think

Also, all this parallel and series stuff, how do i do it? can u ppl please give me diagrams instead of telling me tho?? like a diagram for my 4 subs plz

I think that is correct, please if someone thinks that is incorrect, please correct me.

Fierce, he won't be able to just plug them all into the + and - because I doubt his amp will be stable with 4 subs wired in just parallel, thus being the reasoning for me telling him on MSN to wire it up in series/parallel.

give me them ohms on the speakers and the ohms at which the amp is at and i will tell you how to wire them

In your diagram, you have series the two boxes within in them selves. Each box sould now be 8ohms each. then you paralled the boxes together, to gain a 4ohm load at the amplifier. very good. you get a star!:angel:

ah ha!! that was my first attempt at figuring out the series/parallel thing, I remember reading a little about it before, because I didn't fully understand the reasoning behind series, but then I found out its useful when wiring a bunch of subs.

My guess is that the subs are probably 4 ohm subs, the amp is most likely 2 ohm stable. Therefore just trying to wire them in parallel would try to drop the amp down to 1 ohm, which would most likely fry the amp. Just my guess on this.

also, i got a question for you turb, why the hell are you hitting that low? 144.1 with a 2500 watt system? you should be up in the mid 150's at lest man. I had my little 120 watt system almost up to yours, and I bet my 300 watt system was really damn close. So how do you have your subs wired? No offense, I'm not tryin to start shit, I'm just curious because you should be hitting a lot harder than 144.

Good catch, but two thigns you have look at for my system.
1) Amp wired at 4 ohms so i am only using about 1000 watts.
2) NEW METER FROM TERMPRO SUCKS. The new meter that DBdrag is using is linear and tighter then hell. At SBN, it dropped everybodyise scores about 7-8 db. My score on the old termpro meter is 151.7, score from yesterday, trying new stuff.

No offense taken. Could be really bad and say i do a 168 db port wars style(mic in the port)
