I hear ya'. I've had similar thoughts myself.

My philosophy is simple - there's no rule that says I MUST include everything or anything that I make for the dio (or even use the dio at all). I am just having fun experimenting with various things and seeing if I can do what I set out to do.

Right now for example, I trying to put this to good use

Yes he can
But he won't ONLY be painting landscapes I hope

Re: WIP: 2CV “Rock and Roll-Bar”

Only you could pull off making a car with half it's body missing into one of the most popular and fun wip's here. The engine bay is fantastic, the little details you have added are sublime.

Is JP bringing the girlfriend to the picnic?

that dio looks very promising, and being made by you, it seems like a lot of fun

This is truly a charming little build mate. I like it, keep up the great work. The impressionistic painting bit made me laugh.

Re: WIP: 2CV “Rock and Roll-Bar”

update.

Things are moving forward in a very haphazzard way.

Trying something new as always - this time it's tree making LOL

This

became this

then this

and this

I am still working on ways to add leaves so as a backup, instead of birches, I am making some pine trees

hmm...... maybe 2 toothpicks and kitchen paper soaked in diluted white glue could come in useful...?

something like this is what I have in mind...

Thanks for looking in

Re: WIP: 2CV “Rock and Roll-Bar”

Stevenski! Stop right there and never touch it again. If you bring it to a model show like that you'll win first prize for leaving something to the imagination of the viewer!

j/k... keep working on it and surprise us with more fantastic ideas!!! I just can't believe that this build is going on and on without ever getting boring. Great work!

Greetz from Germany to Poland!

PS: What is the fabric in the background next to the black cardboard?

Re: WIP: 2CV “Rock and Roll-Bar”

Gee, now you are starting to build trees as well. Is there something out there you are not ready to tackle - concerning modeling? I guess you can start a new category rigth after the "machining"-section !

Keep it up and I´m happy to see you are having this much fun.

Robert

Oh yeah, as Sebastian said, greetings from Poland. See you soon on the pitch!

Re: WIP: 2CV “Rock and Roll-Bar”

This has got to be the coolest thing I've seen happen around here. That tree is stunning! I am loving watching this progress!

That's a loooooooooooong story Seb - but I'll spare you

My building table is an old piece if med lab equipment called a laminar flow table. Basically it ensures a positive flow of clean air over the work area. The "fabric" you can see is the mesh covering the air outlet.

For a year or so it provided an excellent, well illuminated and dust-free environment for me to work in. Unfortunately it has now died and I should really get rid of it but there's a minor problem with that.... it weighs nearly 500kg and to get it back out of my cellar workshop will be a nightmare (again) so I am not in a hurry

Why don't you repair it? It might be easier to do, and will be an excellent work table again!
