Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Well, it came today. It's not just about #28R but also #013 too as well as having some great pics of GTR's racing, including the 2 LARK short-tails. I can't read Japanese, but the pics are good enough.

There are a few more, but they are across a double page spread, and my scanner can only do a4. I may try to do 2 together and try to marry them up......

Bingo sports said that they will only sell the #13 to people living in Japan apparently. I read it somewhere before. They dont want the car to leave Japan.

Perhaps they mean nowadays, as it was certainly out of Japan for a while

In the News column: BingoSports have now marked their silver F1 road car as SOLD.

So much for one stop shopping.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

And continuing the "Twilight Zone" like story that is McLaren F1 chassis #013...

It's for sale again, this time with an interesting story attached, and the photos once again show GM's signature on the wing.

http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find...lCarID=1780214

Quote:
Silver exterior with grey leather interior, red leather inserts in center driver seat

Only 10,440 Km from new

Only 64 road cars ever built!

With original Facom Tool Chest, Leather luggage

In EXCELLENT condition

Serviced only by McLaren authorized technicians

It is silver, with grey interior (red inserts in driver seat), (1994 production), 10,440 Km, and only 3 owners since new.

I sold it for first owner in February 2007 to a UK client, the 2nd owner. He brought it to the UK, enjoyed it for 6 months, had it serviced at McLaren, then sold back to Japan in 2008 to a real estate developer in Tokyo, the current owner. He wishes me to find a buyer for it as he has no time to drive it. (the 2nd owner did not want to pay VAT so sold it before paying this, so not VAT paid).

It was serviced while in the UK in 2007, new cats installed, and fresh.

It has always been maintained 100% by McLaren only throughout its life, and this car has spent most of its life in private collections, in Japan most all its life except for the 6 months with #2 London owner.

In 2005 a major service was performed by McLaren, new clutch, upgraded radiators, etc. And, McLaren also installed new fuel tanks in August 2006 (a $40,000 cost by McLaren) which are good through 2011.

It has the leather bags from new, Facom tool chest, books (owners manual & service books), and is a complete car in excellent condition, and in superb condition, mechanically & cosmetically.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

So the Bingo Sports one doesn't look like it was #013 after all - Gordons scribble is on the BBF and the interior doesn't have the screen seen in the Bingo Sports website pics

You mean the one they had on their website a while back, right? Because these pics have also been taken at BingoSports. Tough to tell whether these are recent photos or not though.

Fun little game we play - I just love, love, love silver F1s.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Solving the recent mystery of the silver car that was back in BingoSports inventory is another post from LP4.com who works in the car trade biz in the UK:

Quote:
Bingo Sports still have number 13 for sale, although on consignment from the owner who, has just had it over in the uk at the factory, i believe a deposit has been taken on it in the past few weeks.
So that settles it for me - they did indeed take back #013 after it's world tour and it somehow not only lost it's red stripes in all this, but also the extremely unique signature from Gordon Murray that had been on the corner of the Brake Balance Foil. Hopefully they just fitted a new one to the car and someone kept the autographed one for a display piece?

This same source was also able to confirm that the silver car currently advertised by SPS in HK is actually chassis #064 shown in detail on their website, even though the images in their current ad on Anamera.com show #063 instead. To me, that means the silver F1 road car that appeared in the ZAZ Museum in 2008 was more than likely #063 coming back to Japan as I heard one of the SPS cars had.

What a helpful guy!

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

As Mr.'Tsuzuki's right hand man told me in my 2009 May ZaZ visit, the son of Tsuzuki has chassis no. 006 which has been sent to Mclaren for the every refit at that time with 6months of timeframe. But i am not fairly sure as to coming back of 063 into there.

And not only the black/gray painting for 54F1 GT but also some refinement probably took almost 2years to be completed if i was correct to listening.

Here are more shots in addition to the previous ones.

Interesting details you share and I am very pleased to hear of whose hands #006 ended up in.

One thing that is now puzzling is that the photo Le Man shared of a new silver F1 road car inside the ZAZ Museum was included in this thread on 07-29-2008.

The online advertisement showing chassis #006 for sale was discovered later than that, and shared in a separate thread posted by Roger in November 2008.

So, that silver F1 from Le Man's photo probably wasn't #006 I am guessing, even if ZAZ eventually ended up with #006 later.

Any chance of you supplying a clear chassis plate photo of either the ZAZ F1 LM or the F1 GT from your excellent images?

Safety belt was just removed for further better photos with his assisstance but he was very worried about to getting those "verified shots" down to public although its already well-known facts stuffs.

He told me as to sold-out of 053 to SPS Hong-Kong and talks very often with Mr.Nelson because the girlfriend of Nelson speaks Japanese very well. The owner of 009 in NZ ever visited there a few years back. Regarding the #054, he gave me the email of owner for contact or test drive.

Wait - isn't the black GT (#054) still in Brunei??

One more thing, did you happen to see the chassis plate inside the car? I mean, no doubt it is #058, but I am curious if it looked any different than one found in a normal F1 road car, or if it perhaps said "58F1GT" on it instead of the expected "CHASSIS NO. 058"? Thanks!

He just told me the road car of #054 saying the green McL F1. He might have been confused of chassis no. Anyway that is definitely the car below.

Yes, chassis #053, left for Woking, UK and appeared at one of the Salon Prive shows with a McLaren representative, then ended up at SPS in Hong Kong, then sold to buyer in the Middle East apparently. Current location not exactly known.

I have more, but some indistinct quality with just outside ZAZ museum. Not worth posting. At that time i just could hear that all young Jap folks passed by mumbling as to that supercars. The white enzo was sitting there, but the red F50 was sold to a very famous Korean actor in Japan.

I am not sure of these pics already shared or not. But taken during the commissioining of #063 in 2007 year, of course assume that you guys are very familiar with where it was sit.

I love that shot of the road car's ECU exposed - neat!

Pretty cool examples of the technician 'coming to you' in these photos. I have seen some others in the past, but not the kind I can share on the forum.

Great stuff again!

Yes, thank you very much and good question Erik on the look of the chassis plate.

Very interesting detail pics once again, I agree with Erik, that you managed to capture a very rare moment, when the technician comes to the customer for service/prep.

Thankyou once again ZX4000
