BTW: This 'discovery' almost certainly puts to rest the mystery of which F1 Bernd Pischetsrieder crashed and wrote off. From an earlier post of mine:
I think that #006 and #010 are the two early silver cars that we can't account for right now, since #033 has been identified as the one with the red interior. One of those [two] is almost certainly the car that BP crashed in Germany.
So until chassis #010 magically appears somewhere, I'm considering that car gone...
BRX - I think you are probably right about the Japanese car with the - - - 8 plate. Shame these sales photos have obscured the plate on the car now.

I too assumed, that the car BP crashed could be #010! ;)

On the other hand I always had the feeling, that #004 as well as #006 were also delivered to Brunei...
It would have matched the colour scheme in which the Sultan liked to order his cars.
Btw:
Is it safe to assume that #006 is still original and was a japanese car from the very beginning?
With #010 most likely written off, it now should make four F1 with this fate, right? - XP1, XP2 and #017

Yeah - I saw that. But at the time there was no logical reason for you to exclude #006 that I could think of. :dunno:
Hard to say where this one started life. Japan is certainly a possibility since that is where it is now and several cars did go there from the start.
Don't forget there was a Brunei car that was written off too. It would be #002, #005, #008 or LM1, LM4, LM5 or the GT. I think Chris might know the story, but he's been tight lipped on it. I couldn't get the exact details out of any of my sources even though one was "involved".

Sorry. I really don't know any of the story about the Brunei crash. I don't know if it was ever repaired or not. I've been trying for ages to just find out the colour of the car that crashed

I'll dig up the old emails I have on the topic and see if there's anything extra I can delve from them. Sometimes when you look at things twice you get a different picture.

How do you know one was crashed in Brunei? Was it in the papers? Online rumour? Any pictures? Do you know if anyone was hurt--was it a factory tech test driving or one of the owner's family members at the wheel? Was the car a complete write off?
This is the first I am hearing about it.

It had 'low miles' in 2003; it could have 19,000km 5 years later... :)

I also heard the car was shipped back to the UK and parted out
And the parts shipped back. That's what I've heard.
This can be something for my next long term investigation :licka: I'm close to closing two now

Shipped back to Brunei? All of the parts?
You sure about that? I got offered (to buy) a fairly important part from the car itself
