Superb work, Mark. It is always a pleasure to read your updates. I admire your passion for detail and accuracy. It is nice to see that you reworked the front damper threads to achieve a more accurate part.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

Thanks,

in the new year I managed to snatch a few extra days off and in the end a little bit longer sit in the model.
I started masking the rear fairing but lay quite a long time, and after removing the adhesive tape Aizu glue was on the paint. So I took off all, polished and made nrew masking. Masked the rest with tape Tamiya and Gunze Mr.Masking Sol

After a few minutes paint and half an hour removing masks

later I was playing with the masking and shading

Shading not knocks but it is not my specialty,
Next I put a layer of Gaia clearcoat and apply decals

decals will cover clearcoat and the next will be add a little dirt
I also started masking the fuel tank

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

Hi Mark,

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

What a project, unique, individual, personal, ambitious........i'm rarely out of words, but thats what our hobby IS ALL ABOUT!!!! Thanks for showing.

And, hey, your skills are outstanding in every way, never seen such a realistic weathering job, especially on an bike. Just see how the hot, melted rubber parts have been thrown off the rear tyre.

A REAL STUNNER, wow wow.......absolutely amazing. Superb. Thats EXACTLY what i mean when i'm talking about "bringing miniatures to life"!!!!

All the best furthermore
Yours
Jochen

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1 - Tamiya 1:12 [STUNT BIKE]

Great work on the bike so far. The more you look the more detail you'll see.

What brand of chain and sprocket are these?

installed a chain and I did a little bit of dirt on a fender and chain,
