Thumbs up My nuts . . .

I bought a set of Gorilla lug nuts . . . for my '93 G20.

I liked the idea of these lug nuts because they seemed to offer security and superior fitment compared to traditional lug nuts.

I got a "key" that is necessary to free them, and even got a funky sticker with my "key-code" on it. The sticker even says something like: "DO NOT LOSE THIS STICKER OR YOU WILL BE ROYALLY SCREWED AND WONT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR LUGS OFF" (not EXACTLY like that, but that was the message they were sending). I thought that these nuts were the premium in security and was quite confident in having them on my car . . .

This was true until christmas. For christmas I bought my brother a set of these lug nuts for his '91 celica since he recently invested in some expensive 17's . . .

Just for the hell of it . . . i tried his key on my lugs . . . and was very disappointed to find that it worked.

What gives? Are these lug nuts supposed to be offering some sort of security or not? Why would I have identical keys? I believe in coincidence, but this is absurd. Who should I kill?

What you purchased are called "Tuner stlye" lug nuts. They do offer some security because a normal tire tool or socket can not remove them but, they are not considered locks.

Hahahahaha!!! I'm sorry I know it's a little immature but if you read aloud what you said it's kinda funny in a way.

Ok im done now.

But anyways those are tuner lugs which are designed to fit on aftermarket rims. I tried using my stock lugs from my Integra and the sucker would not fit and now I need to buy those!!! I think they should come with four locks with special grooves as well if you bought the whole install kit.

Oh yea...how much did you pay for those tuner lugs anyways? I see prices from like $70-$95 for the install kit!
