Tamiya PS/PC sprays
Just wondering if any of you guys have used the Tamiya PS or PC spray paints on your plastic models. I like the colours, however, the Tamiya catalogue advises against using PC sprays on plastic bodies. Whats the difference between PS and PC sprays cos the colour range is similar?

PS?? Here in England we get the Tamiya TS and PC sprays and basically as far as I know the only difference is that the PC sprays are designed for use on the PolyCarbonate R/C bodies which is quite a lot different to the plastic used for scale-models!

I've used P/C sprays but the key is a good primer! I use automotive primer and things are fine. The Accord pictured below was painted with Polycarbonate spray from Pactra and It turned out fine.

I haven't seen either of those paints here. We do get the MS Tamiya range here which i find to be a lot harder to spray then the TS ones as it seems alot thicker and is very easy to get orange peel

You can get Tamiya TS and PS cans at home. I used the PS sprays exclusively on my RC cars right up to when I moved over to Aus 11 Years ago and My father used to use the TS sprays on his model truck and trailers.
Trevor Bringan is the importer/supplier of all Tamiya product in NZ based at Manakau City, Auckland. Pactra is also available from all the larger RC stockists. I know the Wellington stores carry it.

PC Polycarbonate sprays are designed to bond chemically to the body of RC cars. They are designed to be flexible and such so that they won't crack with the twisting that RC bodies go through.
If you use it on a model be sure to give it a good clearcoat (that would be my gut instinct).
