It was 1995 Infiniti Q45, code LP2, like you said , called in the US: "Dark Red Purple Metallic Clearcoat."

And it looks spectacular!!

It was also used on the 1996 300ZX (the last year!) called "Deep Purple Metallic".

Wow!!! beautiful color. But also did something similar to that, but not as beautiful as yours.

I spray 2 coat of Tamiya TS-53, after it dry I spray a Mr.Hobby pearl red on it, and color looks great, IMO
But I thinks yours look better.

Also on 93-97 Altimas with that paint name? How come I've never looked at a purple Altima and thought "Wow, that's a Skyline color!"?

Thanks for all the reply, well yeah the LP2 was used on MANY CARS...

when I went in, they told me it was an infiniti color called "BURGANDY PEARL" Then I was looking around and I saw LP2 with the same PPG code 410449 or some crap like that, but they identical but the "name" is different, this time it was deep purple pearl... but yeah that is it...

The wing for this car is supposed to be black, I didn't paint it yet, so it still in the works =D so that is where the wing went.

But I really suggest people to get this color to complete the GTR set, this is the color that is most different than most. You can buy in a spray if you don't got an airbrush, or you can get a half a pint... but you need to buy reducer to mix the paint 1 to 1, for a full pint, which you can paint like 10 cars or so... not saying you want to paint all 10 cars this color, but like modellers alike, can share or whatever, I know I got many 1995 to 1998 GTRs I need to paint in this color... this is the dream color for a i got a silver one already =D

Thanks guys

Cheers,
Peter

As you can see "LP2" was used for the Deep Purple Metallic.

As an alternative you can buy the touchup paint stick and thin it out with lacquer thinner. It's a cheaper alternative.

dude dagerlee... that is crazy man, I never really thought about that because like thinner and this stuff I would not know how to mix, I would think since its touch up paint, it has all the chemicals and stuff alreayd, but ifyou addmore it might turn more liquid... but yeah im still a newbie at this color stuff for cars and stuff, I hope to learn more. I been building models for a while, but i never took it to this levil before.... haha getting to drawn into it

thanks for the replys and comments
