Yeah, it is a high RT, but it has nothing to do with the final result of a test & tune. The 1/4 time (ET) only starts counting when your tires break the light. RT's ONLY matter in bracket racing... .500 is "perfect"...our track gives like a $20 gift certificate to dudes that get a .500 RT when bracket racing.
A tip to improve your RT's tho, if you do ever race....go on the last orange (the one before the green) - the time it takes you to react to the last orange should get your foot moving, the clutch out, and the car moving as the green comes on...it will help your RT's..this tip came from my step-dad, who used to bore out VW motors and run 15's and shit in the 60's (stock 36HP )Your 60' time is a little slow...which means you may be spending a bit of time spinning tires instead of them hooking up at take off...there is a fine line between bogging down and sitting there at the line spinning. Unless you have sticky tires, this will always be a problem...Another thing I have read is that if you are using street tires...don't bother to heat them up (burnout) before your run...this only crazes radial tires and makes them worse when you take off. Good job dude , considering you have no 4th gear.

Yeah, I got pretty good wheel spin, and I was using my friends brand new (not even 10 miles on them) Yokahoma tires that he got off the internet. They grip pretty well (when I am not spinning them). I usually launch at anywhere between 2000 RPM and 3000 RPM.
I NEVER go through the water box. I have heard that it does no good to go through it and burnout on street tires, like you said. My friends and I are going to go to "test and tune" this comming up Saturday morning. If I get any better times, I will post them for ya guys.

Sweet....yeah..i roll around the water box too....I had some really hard-ass Michelin's on my car when I ran at the track. I had to get my baseline on the stock DX tho..18.078 @ 74 ! !
![]() Nice of your buddy to let you tear up his new tires. I have Yokohama Avid T-4's on my car now, and I really like 'em. I need some shitty tires tho to tear up when I get the ZC installed, broken in and go to the track again.
