First Time at Test and Tune

This was my very first time running my car and getting an offical time slip. My local drag strip (Bradenton Motorsports Park) has this thing called "test and tune" every Tuesday and Saturday morning. Me and 2 of my buddies deside to go out and run our cars. My friend Bryant just got a new car (94 Del Sol SOHC version) and wanted to run it, and my other friend Mike wanted to run his car cuz he has never ran it before (02 Civic Si). Here are some of the pics I took... enjoy

gotta love the track! what did you and that chevelle run? that is a very cool matchup because i have owned a chevelle (454 ss malibu w/ 4 speed manual) and now i own a 4g4d. (i couldn't afford the gas on the chevelle so i had to sell it.)

It was close between me and that Chevelle. I dont know what he ran though. He got me off the line, then I slowly gained back on him till we were almost even. I had about a fenders length on him, but as I shifted from 3rd to 5th he got me. It was real close. After we ran, the owner walked up to me and wanted to know what I had in "that little Honda".

I wish it was that easy. I have a JDM tranny, and I dont have the slightest idea on how to rebuild it. Moppie gave me a little help, basically saying that I am better of looking for a used JDM cable tranny. It is sooooo hard to find a S1 tranny, let alone one for a decent price. I honestly dont know what to do about my tranny situation. Would I be better off getting a hydro tranny and just doing the conversion from cable to hydro? What do I do????? If anyone has rebuilt there JDM cable tranny, please help me out. I dont know what to do...

P.S. I know I could use a 90-93 Integra LS tranny, but the gears are WAY too long... worst comes to worst, I might just have to resort doing this.

definetly dont think about going to hydro tranny... A LOT of work is involved in this conversion

try searching some classified ads and you might come across a y1 or ys1 tranny

hondaclassfieds.com is a good place to start

good luck!
