Urethane is softer and will flex like silvercivicgrl said, so it's not gonna have pieces chip off of it. The paint however, will.
Fiberglass or carbon fiber will chip off and crack.

Hey all,
I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to put in my two cents. The fact is, carbon fiber, whenproperly manufactured is perfectly suitable for everyday driving without any major cracking unless you're into driving over curbs and parking blocks. If a lip was made with carbon and Kevlar, which would be the proper way to make them, the lip should be able to take a few driveway rubs without catastrophic failure. Fiberglass covered with carbon fiber, like most of the lips are made are of course going to break. I just get sick of seeing these fly-by-night companies making cheap products and the reputation of this awesome material gets tarnished. 'End of soapbox speech' |

Durability? How well can it hold it's own in daily driving.
Im considering buying a spoon CF front lip spoiler for my 95 civic coupe.
My major consern with the buy is how durable does spoon make their front lips. Do any of you guys have any knowledge about the quality of CF that spoon puts in their products? Also, are there extra mesures that can be taken to protect a CF lip from being torn up (besides not curbing it). |
