The Mini is small but it's much bigger than the "original Mini" !

Cars in this poll. I don't really like small cars. Too underpowered and pointless for me. You may disagree, but it's just not my thing.

Mmmhhh... I understand. Personnaly, I like small and bigger cars. They have eache one advantages. With small powerfull cars like the 206 RC 180, Clio V6 250, or more quiet, Golf GTi, Mini Cooper S, etc. you can have a lot of fun on little raods, mountains, "medium" roads or towns.
But I digragree when you say that it's underpowered (pointless : I don't understand, sorry ! ), look at a Clio V6 or a Delta Integrale !!!! (I know there are not these cars in the US).

That's a really stupid post. If they're not the right cars for your needs say so, at least thats more justified.... otherwise dont click on the thread knowing its a thread about small cars if youre gonna come in here and post things like that.

Man, you can't take a joke. I was kidding. I happen to like the convenience of small cars, but they are not very appealing as far as looks or performance. Them being light does NOT make up for lack of power.

In a drag race the mini would win, but only by 1 or 2 seconds over the gti. As for the twisties, I heard the gti has a poor suspension and tires, which makes it have very slow slalom times, so the mini would win hands down. As for the car I would pick, it would be the focus, the cheapest out of all of them which means more $ for aftermarket mods.

OK.................definitley not the brightest button on the jacket (I'm allowed a cliche too )

Being light is favourable when you have a lot of power- expecially cars like the Lupo GTi, Lancia Dealta Intergale and Mini Cooper S

power:weight ratios are everything

Funnily enough the Integrale (EVO) isnt as light as you'd think, weighing in at 1340kg its pretty heavy for a hatchback... Youre absolutely correct about power to weight being vital. But take a look at this:

Integrale EVO 158bhp/ton
Audi S3 quattro (225bhp model) 166bhp/ton

yet the 'grale burns the S3 off the lights and on the twisties..... so while power to weight is important, you gotta have the chassis to back it up.

take note, Audi

I realize that.... What I was saying is that being light does not necessarily make a car fast, especially if the car is underpowered to begin with. I see your point, and it is true, but the problem I have is that too many Civic owners think they can win a race just because they are lighter, when in all reality their car has no power.
