I got the electronic gauge with the big baseball sized sending unit..
I had a mechanical gauge in my '78 Civic, and I always got oil in the car when I was bleeding the feed line from the block to the gauge...messy!!! ![]() This at least keeps it all in the engine compartment, and I don't have to run any hot oil lines thru the firewall..The object in mounting the sending units on the firewall is so that the weight of those units are not stressing the block.
