Have a failure in the electric power steering system on sons car
Have researched it enough to strongly think it's the torque sensor I am capeable of doing the work Question is this, if I buy the gm replacement sensor and install it. will it just need to have the codes flashed or will I need to have it flashed to get the power steering back up |

Re: Sterring issue 2006 malibu,
Wasted 140 bucks on the sensor, did not fix, it was the electric motor, got a whole steering colum from junk yard for 50 bucks, from a pontiac, had to swap out the steering wheel and switch lever pack but was simple to do

Re: Sterring issue 2006 malibu,
Thanks for the update. It's always good to see the resolution and results. Sorry you dropped the cash on the sensor, but fifty bucks for the whole column sounds like a pretty good bargain to make up for it. For under $200 you got him back on the road, and I'd hate to think what a shop would have charged, probably including the new snesor as well.
