As for technology, Road & Track did a test in 1982 between a Hendricks Nascar Monte Carlo and the Porsche 962 Lowenbrau car to see which car was faster....The Nascar was 41 mph faster when it didn't have a restrictor on it! I
Sim! Simma down now! The NASCAR was faster because it wasn't creating 2500lbs. + of downforce like the Porsche, your being intellectually dishonest here. Nobody is saying that NASCAR doesn't have it's place in history, it just isn't very popular amongst readers of this forum.

Actually, both teams were allowed to "slick-up" the cars and the Porsche team used the "long-tail/light downforce" set-up. The Monte Carlo team only taped the gaps in the hood, closed the window openings, and tightened the wheel openings. Don't forget, a Monte Carlo wasn't much on aerodynamics either!! Also, the Nascar outweighed the Porsche by about 1000 lbs. too! I'm not saying the Porsche wouldn't smoke the Monte around a high-speed road-course, it just couldn't catch it when flat-out around an oval!! The R&T people were shocked too!

That's an example of how you can't really compare the two, they're two totally different animals designed to do two different things.

If only they would stop focusing so much attention on their line of NASCAR kits... personally I HATE nascar.... nothing could possibly be more boring than staring at a bunch of cars go round and round in loops.
So just because you and a couple of other people hate them you think Revell should stop making them? I think that the NASCARs are some of the funniest shit around, going around in circles mostly and then causing huge pile ups that leave cars exploding and smashing everywhere, its great!

I agree Nascar ain't all that exciting, but you compare some of those Nascar drivers to some of the Cart, F1, JGTC, DTM and WRC drivers and you can understand why they only drive in circles......
I would call the pile ups "exciting". They don't just drive in circles, 30 years ago those cars went over 200mph, give me some of your JGTC or DTM cars that are that old and go that fast with that much "primative pushrod" technology.

Anyway, all you import people only want those damn Tuner series from Revell and that is all that concerns you so shutup about the NASCAR models Revell make, it was their choice, just like it was their choice to make the tuners. Revell is an American manufacturer and it comes as a surprise to you all that they make alot of American cars and hardly any Japanese ones? Go whine to Tamiya or Fujimi and get them to make the ITR and those Civics so you will leave Revell alone, they do what they can so stop giving their name a hard time. As for not moving the manufacturing to China I think that is the smartest thing Revell has done for along time! My 1969 Pontiac Firebird was manufactured in China and it was as bad as Fujimi, besides that it had some detail and an engine. I love the US made Revell kits the plastics are awesome and some of the older kits had extreme amounts of detail. "Oh boohoo, they have moldlines and flash" Go back to paying double for your damn Tamiyas then.

How did I know that this thread would somehow turn into an argument about American cars vs Imports?

How did it? I can't see how it has, I see its turned into the old "Tamiya vs Revell, lets get it on!" thread but nothing besides that.
