97 achiveia dash issue
Ok so first, it dose start and run, my issue is that when it's running the RPM gauge dosnt move, and the low coolant light, battery light, security light, airbag light, stay on. I'm not certain that the fuel or temp gauges work either. Trying to get an idea if any one has had this problem and fixed it. Was working a couple days ago then spazzed out and now this. I've got the dash torn apart and looking for lose wires with no luck this far. Any info would be great. Thanks

Re: 97 achiveia dash issue
Do you have a wiring diagram for the harness to the cluster? Have you checked all power sources and grounds? Checked com lines?
Scanned for codes? |

Re: 97 achiveia dash issue
Unfortunately no wiring diagram, been trying to find one. And have been methodically going to each wire I can find and making sure they are tight and clean. I have ran a code reader on it and nothing comes up.

Re: 97 achiveia dash issue
The instrument cluster in a '97 gets a serial bus connection to the PCM. Much of the data for the instruments is transmitted on this UART/CAN bus serial line. Among those signals are the speedo, tach, fuel gauge, If that circuit is interrupted the instruments will have no signals to display.

Re: 97 achiveia dash issue
Code readers can only read "P", or Powertrain codes......you need a high end scan tool to be able to read IPC, Body, and Communication codes...
At least with Blue's schematic you can check the circuits of power and ground, and UART input..... |
