Re: 1/12 scale Ferrari 512M

I got a question.
Got this Ferrari seat belts or not?
If he got some, who was the manufacturer?

Re: 1/12 scale Ferrari 512M

Looks great - I'm very jealous of the speed you can work through these projects!

I like the comment about using the screen from a 956 - I think when they built the first 956 they took the screen from the 917! I'm not a massive Ferrari fan, but I do like the way the 512 and 312PB were the last hurrah of their top-flight sports-racers before they switched full-time to F1. The Sunoco livery is pretty cool, too - and not the obvious choice.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Re: 1/12 scale Ferrari 512M

Sorry for the delay, but now i got something new to show.
And many thanks for that kind words.

The rear end of the car was designed.I use some spare parts from a Ferrari 312T,some Porsche 911 parts and some from a Caterham.
Should be good enough at the end.

regards Christian

Re: 1/12 scale Ferrari 512M

it can also be that ferrari build up their own seatbelts in the factory.
They were famous to build all inside company, rims, gear shifter, wings..all

I personally knew the engeneer making the wheels for p4. campagnolo types, and he confirm that very often they made them also by their own, after borrowing the engeneers from other company. considering that gt40 had no rollcage at all in that years I would not be so surprised of this low level of safety for drivers..

Re: 1/12 scale Ferrari 512M

Ok,my interpretation of a Ferrari engine/tranny is done

The back of the car is very warped,so the helping frame looks very crude. But i have to live with that. Its only a CMM kit.

Next will be the gear shifter and cables, lots of cables and other small stuff.
Its getting closer to the end now.
regards
Christian

Re: 1/12 scale Ferrari 512M

This is starting to look great!
Congrats on sticking it out, I think when that crude body came I would have been tempted to give up!
May I ask how you achieved the finish on the top of the dashboard?
