87 Toyota 4runner cranks but no power to ignition
My Toyota 4-runner has a new starter, and has started since the starter was installed, but after I installed new tail lights, I turn the key and there is no power to the ignition, and the none of the dash lights go on EXCEPT the one which reads charge. I have checked all the relays and fuses, no problems there, and I have had the computer out and checked by a dealer, but still no power to the ignition...anyone else ever deal with this?

Re: 87 Toyota 4runner cranks but no power to ignition
Did you check your battery? It might be almost or totally dead. Might be the fault of the alternator. Have them both checked.

Is there a circuit breaker on the ignition wire leading from the Starter? |

Re: 87 Toyota 4runner cranks but no power to ignition
Replace the AM1 40A fuse under the hood if it exists. Might be your problem.
Also, replace the wire from the positive battery terminal to the fuse box. They have been known to corrode internally or create a bad connection to the point of causing electrical problems like you describe.
