While I personally feel the original NSX is a more beautiful car I'm sure this will be a fine model.

Seeing how its being assembled in Honda's Marysville Ohio Plant , I would expect it to come with both dash options.

I know it's Tamiya quality and everything, but isn't $53 for a curbside model a tiny bit steep?

Well we dont yet know if its going to be curbside or not, unless you know something we dont.

Thats the imported price, the Japan price is in the $30 range , even with shipping, its still going to be cheaper.

You might think that is high, but for me, I would gladly pay $53 for a curbside Tamiya kit vs $25 for crap in the box kit from Revell that has full engine detail.

Anyways, Hobby Search and HJL both have the kit up for pre order, Oct is showing for the release date.

Well, not a lot of modern cars excite me period. It just feels that everything cool has been already made.

Yeah, I felt like that as a kid in the eighties, but then the nineties showed up. Can't beat the classics, though.

I'm surprised. Tamiya's homepage says the new NSX kit will include the V6 engine and front power unit, as well as both LHD and RHD dash.

I'm quite looking forward to this one but then again, I'm a huge, huuge NSX fan.

When there was the HSC concept, I wished they made a kit.
Then they teased us with the HSV and I wished they made a kit.

Now we actually have a new NSX and well, no need to wish.

Re: And the next 1/24 car from Tamiya, #24344 is...

Upon inspection of the photos, I think the plated pieces for the interior might be a bit too shiny (they should be satin), but at least they're separate pieces for ease of painting. Of course, we must wait and see the pieces in person to be sure.

I like how Tamiya announces a new model and its ready to be shipped within a month or two, unlike Revell-Germany, where it takes them nearly a year from announcement to ship the model (I'm thinking of the McLaren 570 and AMG GT, among others).

Re: And the next 1/24 car from Tamiya, #24344 is...

I can see concessions in the kit to keep the pricetag at $53, fewer colors of plastic, bright plating only, no separate satin plating, all that clear plastic using decals for grille texture...that's the one that really bugs me.

I wonder if there will be a DX version later, while this one takes up the "gotta have the latest and greatest as fast as possible" torch?

Just hope they get back to racing cars.
A SuperGT version of this would be a great start

I am pretty sure Tamiya will come up with a photo-etch set for it.

Re: And the next 1/24 car from Tamiya, #24344 is...

Tiny update.

I find myself in Hong Kong post Chung Yeung family stuff and I'm seeing the kit being sold at HK$230.
Even at today's awful £, that's still a pretty good price for a modern/new kit.

Aoshima Lamborghini kits are a bit pricey though....
