"Bullet resistant" is probably more accurate. It probably has a chance at surviving small anti-personnel rounds, although those are not as popular any more for defense.
Looks like a pretty decent and relatively discreet job of modding though. It should be a nice upgrade for those needing a bit more confidence in low risk areas, probably far better than this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGC-IJnlq1E
