Precision drilling through the divider at the milling machine.

the drilling / milling job takes a long time and if there are vibration the workpiece moves and you lose the exact spacing between the various holes.

And this is the assembly of a rear wheel not sure about the depth of the center disc.

Re: Lancia rally 037 wheels & tires WIP 1:10

Thank you for the comments hope that the overall shape of the rims looks good, but have not finded good reference photos to compare with the pieces.
This is how the central part of the wheel is made.

starting from a roughed piece must sign the start and the stop of the internal groove.

when finished with the correct internal/external diameter and depth must be drilled in the center than cutted in total length adding correct machining allowance.

Once obtained the right external sizes and shape whe have to go at the divider for a drilling session of some hours to realize the design.

The bigger holes must be machined in 4 steps for each angular movement, 1st the centering bit.

2nd the small drill bit.

3rd the large drill bit.

And finally the 2 edges milling cutter to obtain a polished finish of the holes.

Re: Lancia rally 037 wheels & tires WIP 1:10

Update, the shop where i buy plastic materials re opened after the summer holidays so I bought this piece of acetalic resin to start the tires machining is a expensive kind of resin and cost 10 euro each kg.

And this is the final result.

the photos were taken with a 200 focal lens unsuitable for the macro, so the result is bad .i have to redo photos.
