Lancia rally 037 wheels & tires WIP 1:10

Hallo,I was a few years away from the forum due to the birth of my daughter and consequent stop of any modeling activity, now I restart little by little and I decided to accept the challenge of building the 037 wheels in 1/10 scale unfortunately do not have enough information and I would need your help to get at least the measures of all depth measurements taken from the hasegawa kit, if someone wants to share other information would be a great thing, I will build the wheels on a lathe and milling machine with the divider (may be this the right word?) and will post progress.
As for the tires I've already found and tested a plastic material that I think gives good results with slick tires due to the difficult to reproduce machining the tread pattern of a sculpted pneumatic.
The info that i've finded on the internet are measurements of the car, most important is the weelbase,and of course the wheels at the rear we have a 10"x16" and 8"x15" at the front.
So with this very little information i have printed a copy of the hasegawa's drawings finded on the internet in the right proportions (in this i have used the weelbase measure as a good base for the print) in this Photoshop helped me so much.

At this point the wheels in the drawing also have the right measures (height and lenght are not in scale in the drawing) and can be used for the approximate diameter of the various shapes of each wheel.

Have started the machining of the inside of a rear wheel,but without precise measures of the inside have stopped at a depth 12,5 mm. Actually the external diameter is 1 mm more than 16" (in scale) for the lip of the rim.

Surely the best place to start is with the Tamiya 1/10th R/C wheels...

I think that those rims are wrong for a super detailed static model as they were adapted for a rc chassis from what i see also the design is without details,
for those reasons can't be kept in consideration for my project.
I'm looking for the measurements of the rims in the hasegawa evo2 037 kit 1/24 scale if a guy here in the forum that have the kit can measure it for me

Nino I can measure the Hasegawa 1/24 037 wheels for you. I will have access to my 037 kits on the next weekend, then I will measure and inform you.

Congratulations for this amazing project!

Best Regards.

Ok it would be great for me, I am momentarily stopped because I lack the steps to finish the inside and then cut the bar because I have to build the wheels in at least two separate parts.
Thank you for the comments !

Re: Lancia rally 037 wheels & tires WIP 1:10

Hallo,today I had time so I tried to realize the prototype of the outside of a rear rim,

which is formed by a ring with appropriate diameters, the depth of the first shoulder is approximate,i will modify it before to cut out the finished piece.

Nino,

I will inform you the correct dimensions of 037 hasegawa front and rear wheels until today.

Do you need a complete measurement or only width, diameter and offset?

Let me know!

Best regards.

Carlos Malfitani.

Re: Lancia rally 037 wheels & tires WIP 1:10

Nino,

First of all, sorry for my delayed answer, I have been problems with my internet connection.

Following, the measurement of Lancia 037 1/24 Hasegawa:

According to your drawin's legends:

REAR WHEEL:

F=12,10mm
A=0,34mm
B=1,78mm
C=1,80mm
E=8,00mm
D=8,98mm
X=5,84mm (diameter)

FRONT WHEEL:

F=8,98mm
A=Not applicable
B=1,54mm
C=1,56mm
D=6,24mm
E=5,56mm
X=5,84mm (diameter)

I use to measure a Micrometer Mitutoyo precision 0,02mm

Best Regards.
