I've just been reading over the specs for the Elemental designs K-series and the sound like a CRAZY ASS sub. I think that the 12 inch K's are exactly the sub I have been looking for. They work well in really small boxes and have good wattage ratings.

While on the same site I was looking over the specs for the Avionixx amplifiers and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about them. I was looking specifically at the AXT - 1800.2 and runnning it at the 2x900 @ 2ohm rating. Do you think this would overpower the e12kd2 or e12kd4? Which sub would be better? the dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm?

Thanx to everyone who has been helping me through this decision process.

The subs are rated at 400 watts rms recommended and 900 watts rmx max.

i'm not selling them. lol. i own the 15" version and all i can say is WOW. for the price i paid, no other sub will beat it. you can order the subs online. buy 2 and save 10%. shipping is i think $30 for both subs. great price considering each sub weighs about 18lbs.

they shouldn't have a problems comparing with the W6. think IDQ's with more omph to them. the IDQ's have better sound quality than the W6's anyways (providing optimal enclosures for both subs).

if you want to stick with JL audio, but want the loud, go with the W3. more total linear displacement than the W6's.

in the audio world, the max rating power (peak) means nothing, so why advertise it? peak power is just marketing hype so people would think.."oohh!! look at that sub! it says 2000 watts!"

these are sound quality subs that can get loud. one guy hitted 150.3dB with 3 15"s in his explorer using a single JBL 1200.1 amp. thats about 400 watts to each sub. oh yea, they were in a sealed box no doubt he could get 153 or so dB if ported.

here is the link to the ED forum. i have yet to see a negative response with proper install.
http://forum.soundillusions.net/foru...php?forumid=20

the recommended rms is 400 watts, but it will take more. the most i would put on each is 700 watts for daily use. its more than you need. be VERY careful with the gain knob. ED will not cover user's mistake.

for the amp, i would not go with the them. personally they cost too much and a regular amp would do find. look at the Lanzar Optidrive 1000.1D on ebay from the seller audioblowouts. sure its used, but its refurbished to work like new. all the people who bought them had great results. if you have any questions on the amp, ask: dima 5891 on AIM. i personally recommended this amp to him and he loves it. underrated with all the features you need. subsonic filter, you go it. definitely great for ported box setups. you can find it for $189.99 plus $20 shipping i think. around there. if you're going to use this amp, get the dual 4ohm version of the sub. parallel wire both sub and the amp should see a 1ohm load, which it will put out 1000 watts RMS, with some little bit more. its all you need. any more questions, my AIM screen name is QUackQUack2x

So should i go with 2 or try and stuff 3 e12kd4's in my trunk? Are the Lanzar amps good quality thats gonnna last a long time or am i gonna be using any warranty i can get once a month?

When i end up getting them could you explain exactly what you mean about the wiring. I've only ever read about audio....never actually installed anything(lack of $$$).

Thanx
