Re: Chassis #048 (not) at McLaren Geneva!!!

How different is this color from that also equally amazing blue that is on 011?

What paint does/did McLaren use to paint these cars? I would assume it had to be special paint since they did not want to allow the weave of the carbon fiber to show through.

The car looks so much better in the pics taken outside than in the studio ones - what a beauty ... thanks for sharing, Erik

Your welcome Roger - it was my pleasure to share. You might be interested to know that the service history on this car includes a couple of trips to Idstein.

That is absolutely stunning.

Almost a crime that the owner barely took it out in later years.

Hopefully whoever manages to buy it drives it more often, people need to see F1's and especially in beautiful colours like this one.

The interior is so wonderfully 90's as well.

Re: Chassis #048 (not) at McLaren Geneva!!!

048 is now on the "sold" list on Kidston website with some interesting infos.
www.kidston.com/kidston-cars/2471/1996-McLaren-F1
Just 10,269 accident free km and McLaren serviced
"Chassis ‘048’ was built for the current owner as a 50th birthday present from his wife and delivered by McLaren on 4th December 1996."
"The car was immediately imported and registered in Switzerland, where it has lived ever since in climate controlled storage with rare outings including a holiday to the South of France,"
