Re: 2002 gtp electrical issue?

When you flip on your blower motor and lose headlights, does your rear window defrost indicator light up when turned on? It also shares the same power circuit with the blower, DIC, and headlights. Just one more thing to verify before you change the ignition switch. Which is where I would start.

Re: 2002 gtp electrical issue?

really weird thing i traced the short back to the climate control unit. the button for ac is bad, for some reason when that button is a dim green i have the problems and then if i click it a couple of times when it stays gright green everything is fine, also it takes 20 tries to get it to shut off, i believe problem solved finally

Re: 2002 gtp electrical issue?

ok not fixed, came back today. so i went to the passanger side fuse box. now if i pull out the fuse for the climate control all the lights come back. as soon as i touch the fuse to the box the problem comes right back. so the problem lies in the climate control itself? only that fuse makes a difference

You might have a bad resistor network for your blower. When you choose the different fan speeds it directs the power through different resistors then to the blower motor. That resistor network may have gotten wet when you had the leak on the passenger side. If any of the resistors are broken and shorting to the frame, you will have a problem. Don't know if this is possible but it is where I would look next.
